Ordered a case of Prime 6.5 CM and four more boxes of .260. The web site would not complete my order in Safari, IE or Chrome. So, I called to complete the order and the president of Prime, Jim, answers. He is flipping burgers for his kids while he takes my order. I tried to get him to let it wait until Monday, but he insisted. Then he can't get the order to go through either. So he calls the head of the company that maintains Prime's web site and introduces the two of us. Jim ask him to call me back and take my order. That is LaRue style customer service.
Got the Gen 3 PRS installed on the .260. Hope to get more range time this weekend. Unfortunately we are so short at work that I am out on another trip this week. |

Some case lot info on the Prime I received:
2 Boxes from LaRue - 0209:501 and 0209:561 (received two weeks ago) Case from Prime - 0209:501 (received a week ago) Older box - 0209:510 (received 6 months ago) The chrono data I posted previously was for lot 0209:510. I fired 75rds (mostly FGMM) on my first range trip so I suspect the barrel is about to pick up some speed. I'll chrono again on my next range trip and see where the MVs land. Next report will hopefully be some headspace readings if Amazon comes through with the lock and load pieces I need for the .260. So, what lots of Prime have others received? ETA - A lot of smudging on my lot numbers, after looking, the ":" is actually a 1 as as SmokieRiver stated. |

I'm ignorant to reloading, what is all of that?

On an autoloader you are limited by the magazin length which in most cases negates the ability to seat the bullet in an optimal position. 2. You really need to measure your bullet by the ogive and not the tip. Tips are inconsistent due to manufacturing limitations, but the ogive is always correct. Hornady sells ogive adapters for each caliber. If you are going to get a TRUE reading it's best to use that as well. All this stuff is good kit but it's usefulness is debatabe in an autloader. I do it for my bolt guns but have never messed with it on my predatobr. Hopefully I will be proven wrong. |

I love reloading. You can never have enough gadgets. FYI only use 1 of the red inserts. I bought 2, one to use for the headspace comparators and one for the ogive comparators-you know, to save time and be efficient? What I found out is that the red insert pieces vary in legth. Not a lot but enough to make a difference when you are talking about bumping shoulders. I threw one away. You have been warned.

Actually, you may be the benchmark. First reloading press I went Redding T7 with competition dies. Then I realized I might have go a little over board for just getting started with bushing and competition shell holders . . . But I hate upgrading when I can just make the purchase right the first time.
