Okay, morning bump as I sit at DCA before flying off to Atlanta to deal with some folks who are outside of company policies. I might be able to get to the range tomorrow before I have to fly to Japan for a week's worth of site visits, but I hope some of you can post up your range reports, impressions, etc.

Be advised that the LaRue 7.62/.260 carbine buffer tube is 1/2 longer than standard (if there is a standard for large frame ARs). The Gen 3 PRS will require a rifle length buffer tube for install on the .260.
So, I called the mother ship and they are sending a rifle buffer tube and a spacer. That way the buffer and spring that came with the rifle can be used. What to do with the spare carbine buffer tube? sounds like a good excuse to build another rifle. |

View Quote Wish I had a budget for some PRIME Ammo, was at the range doing a max load development, and trying some Hornady 130 gr ELD. I couldn't get consistent shots with the ELD. It was all over the place. Not worth taking pictures of. Getting an Standard deviation of 19-25 per 10 shots. Thankfully, i was able to transfer over my scope from my 762 PredatOBR, and get on paper. overall just 1 mil adjustment. Rifle ran smoothly without any hiccups. As for my hand loads. I was getting wonderful results at the top of the max load, 41.3 grains of H4350, velocity of 2700 ft/s with no signs of over pressure. Sorry, no pictures, but if anyone wants extra details on anything, let me know |

The sign is probably from the communist opposition party, a fringe group by any standard. A couple of them come out with their lawn chairs and signs and protest every once and awhile, but they did spend their donations to put up a sign reminding people they're trying to be relevant. |

Very pleased with my 260. I was able to get it zeroed at 200 and make repeatable hits out to 1400 yards this weekend. I was using factory Hornady 130 match. Bushnell scope with G3 reticle, Harris bipod and accuracy first level.
I will be working on some hand loads for the next session. Pics Attached File Attached File Second morning first 3 shots of day. 1100 yard 3 shot group. 7.5" I have had a smile since. Side note on the Hornady 130 match ammo.
I was not impressed with the spread on MV for the first 30 rds fired from the Rifle. The spread for the first 10 was 63fps. It did however tighten up to an ES of 19 fps for rds 20- 30. I was using Lab Radar for MV data. The rounds picked up some speed as the barrel started to get some copper in it. The last 10 rds I ran data for averaged 2749 fps. The first round through the gun was 2711 fps. The rifle liked the Hornady, especially day 2. |
