There was a question a few pages back about Peterson brass. I've had consistent results with the Peterson and I did find this.

4K seems reasonable for holding moa. I'm expecting 28-3500 out of my bolt gun 260's. Pushing 142's at 2775 in one barrel and 2806 in a second rifle. Both 26" tubes.
The FGMM 142 was chrono'd at 2750fps from a 22" gas gun? That seems awful hot for a factory round. I'm at the upper end with my loads and I've only got a few tenths of a grain to increase till I get some gnarly ejector marks on Lapua brass. The numbers listed in the chart mirror the Hornady 6.5 creedmoor results that I've gotten from a 22" gasser. 2605 fps with 147's and 2630 with the 140's. Looking forward to your results and the measurements of the 147's as well as BTO to hit the lands. Some really good chit in this thread! |

Was gonna go shooting Sunday til they decided to induce the wife into labor. 3 days later I have my new little shooting buddy home and he was born big enough to handle the 260 on his own one seriously proud daddy who can't wait to get his little boy his first trainer rifle. Will update on my brass situation as I get more info

Shot up all my 308 today (still couldn't outshoot the shootist, .452, got close a few times). tOBR goes under the knife tonight and will begin life as a .260 next range session.

Nice, damn you guys who keep posting pics of cases of ammo lol ...
I said what the hell on the Ultimate upper kit as well 6.5 which I won't see for a while because I picked UDE upper, no idea what the lead time is on my 260 either, Juli confirmed my FFL so I guess its being built so hopefully soon (two weeks? ) Figure with adding the 6.5 would be a good idea with the 260 so I can stock up on bullets for both lol (yay another set of dies and brass to get) |

39.8 might be the load, but it may be a small node considering what the next charge did. I'll try to measure what my jump is in my creed w/ the 147's. Might give you an idea of adjustments for seating depth, assuming you can't mirror what the bolt gun's jump was.
Have you tried the 142's w/ 41.1-41.5gr H4350? Could be worth a shot if you have the 142's on hand. Thanks for posting your results. |

Quite hot at 88 degrees and 90% humidity in NC today... only stayed out to zero and shoot a few groups at 100 yards and called it a day. I set up a paper target facing North for sight in and a steel target at 460 yards facing South. Shooting the cheap brass ammo suppressed (in the suppressed setting) to sight in and I am not even on paper at 100 yards. Move the paper target in to 50ish yards and am 6" high. Get it sighted in and move back to 100 yards, switch to federal 168gr ammo to dial it in. During this 10'ish round string with cheap and federal ammo almost every shot I get a stove pipe (think thats what it called) somewhat feeds another round but doesn't fully eject the last round. See 1st 2 photo's. Thought maybe it was the cheap 147gr ammo (that my SCAR eats up) but also got them with the federal 168gr. I tried adding oil to the bolt but it didn't help. FRUSTRATING! After getting it dialed up I flip around to face the steel target and get the same stovepipes suppressed. My hits are dead on but I have to cycle the action almost every time. I'm able to hit a 6" flipper target at 460 yards. I decide to remove the Omega suppressor and now get failure to extract's, many of them! Tries to feed a round without extracting the last round. Extractor is ripping the edge of the case off or bending them. 1st shot was in suppressed setting and the rest in non-suppressed setting. No sense going through the hassle of possibly self-diagnosing, or worse, ripping a case head off and having to deal with a stuck case. |

There is some red paint on the spring, and yes H2 buffer.
It came with this combo. |
|
|
|
I did. John said there has to be something in the chamber hanging the round up. I cleaned it and will try it again in a few weeks when I get time.
Will also try and heavier buffer for the suppressor. |

Thats rough man. If you go out again let me know I'll tag along if you want. |

I'm going early tomorrow again. Only day I can for the next few weeks.
