Considering this is a gas gun, I'm wondering if it will perform better with lighter bullets?

Anyone know if all factory 260 loads should be good to go in this gun? I don't want to pick up a case of ammo only to discover it is too hot and only works in a bolt gun.
I thought Mike p had mentioned this somewhere else but I can't find it now. |

Still new and reloading, so just curious why you picked Hodgdon 4350 over Varget?

If the gas system is a +2, I would think port pressures would be manageable with commercial loads. Originally Posted By MFST1:

View Quote I'm also new to reloading, but I think H4350 is a slower burning powder that offers a more manageable pressure curve and could be better for heavier bullets. Using the Varget, a faster burning powder, produces higher pressure curves, with less of a charge, and may be best for lighter bullets. However, there are other variables such as barrel length, powder burn rates, bullet type and weight, etc., etc. |

I remeber someone saying that a lot of the commercial ammo, including FGMM, was a bit too hot for a 260 gas gun. It may have been in this forum but I want the say they were getting best results with handloads.

I just got that FDE .308 with a .110 test target. But out of all of my LaRue guns that was an outlier for sure. The next best was my 5.56 OBR I. The .3xx range and then my Costa with a .414 group. I have faith that you guys will do better
