Here's my meager collection:

On top is a 1993 Enhanced Combat Commander that was recently re-blued and gone over by Colt

Below to the right is an early Series 80 Stainless Gold Cup that has some minor custom work done.  Beavertail safety and a bobbed hammer.

Third down is a bone-stock 1991NRM

Fourth and to the left is a 1991ORM that has been to the Colt Custom Shop.  Here's a list of what was done:

Added a pony to the left side of the slide at the rear, Gold Cup cuts to the front of the frame, de-horn, and a re-blue
Before it went in a 1911 hammer, 1911 mainspring housing, and some hardball sights were added.

I've got my eye on an Enhanced Blued Officers model that my FFL has in stock.......

Here is that nickel DS alongside my girlfriend's nickel 1903, recently inherited from her grandfather.

I just received this Colt today, it is slightly used (approx 200 rnds) and has been a safe queen. I really like the feel of this pistol and the trigger is very nice.

Very nice.
I wondered myself about handguns down south......Have some of the 1911's been converted to .22lr? I noticed some small appearing holes in the ends of a few of those barrels?

My understanding of Mexican law is that as long as they aren't chambered in a military caliber, they are okay to own.  Which is why the .38 Super is such a popular 1911 caliber in Mexico.

But I've never been to Mexico and don't plan on crossing the border with firearms...

Hello,
I bought a Colt Officers Model. I was looking for information on the pistol. The serial number is 334,### there appears there is a 6 under the serial number. The pistol has adjustable front and rear sight. Black Colt grips and there is no colt engraved on the left side of the frame. The barrel is marked with Pat'd dates of Aug 5 1884, June 5 1900, Apr 9 01, and July 4 05. I know the pistol has been reblued and has some pitting. Also the grips are factory colt but may not of been the correct grips for the pistol. I was hoping for a mfg date, I have checked proofhouse.com but I do not think it is correct or that i was looking at the correct section.   If anyone can help me get information on this I would appreciate it.

Looking at the "Army Special and Officer's Model" serial number list at http://proofhouse.com/colt/index.html, which this revolver appears to belong, your SN of 334xxx puts it in the 1911-1912 production years.

Might be worth contacting Colt and getting a factory letter to verify it.

Nice collection indeed.
