Not yet 100% since changing out the old recoil springs. I'm cutting the biggest spring down 1/2 coil at a time, like the spring manufacturer says to do. My pistol is an old MK I, which was designed for a two-spring setup, and doesn't have room under the spring assembly cap for the bigger springs.  It's getting closer, though.

Surprisingly yes, the finish is fantastic. I had no intention of buying but,  when I saw it and no brainer when I held it. I am a suckerfor a suppressible 1911 out of the box.

Yes indeed; a bit of history if you don't mind.....All issued War automatics have been fired....WWI pistols are fired once with a high pressure proof load then the barrel stamped with a "P", the round count varied at Remington UMC and Springfield Armory..... WWII pistols were fired with 3 seven round mags then acceptance stamped. There is almost no such thing as an unfired 1911.....this one is simply in >90% condition.

Lunchbox guns are assembled from parts then "liberated" from the factory by an employee....they often lack proof and/or acceptance marks and some may be genuinely unfired.

This one however, is one of the finest in the country and has probably only been factory fired.

Summer 1941 production right during the transition period of intermixed pistols with bluing and Parkerizing at Colts, a superb pre-War example, nearly flawless, irreplaceable, none better. Col. Robert Sears stamped under 22,000 if I recall. Then Waldemar S. Broberg replaced him until around 1942, he did some 110,000 units.

There is a range for everything....specific condition, production totals, remaining examples in private hands, original parts all make a difference. The 1941 R.S. Colt is perhaps up to $15,000 as there are none finer (certainly over $12,000). The 1913 is perhaps $6,000 or more. As these age, the remaining prime condition goes way up since most are not.

LOVE THE TWINS....a proud dad indeed. Lots of subtle differences between those two individuals....the Novak sights are a current favorite of mine on the M45A1.

Funny how long ago 1924 run of 10,000 pistols seems when the 1911A1 features were born. The finger cut, rounded slide release lever underside and arched MSH. Here is the 696th 1911A1 ever made....note the shared features with your SA yet these were marked "Model of 1911"....these are known as the 1924 Colt Transitional. Millions have since followed with these features.
