Did a little modifying,

Trijicon front sight
Dawson Precision rear sight
Wilson low lever thumb safety
Wilson MSH and guts

I'm definitely getting a better file before I try fitting anymore parts. Probably took 30-45 minutes to file the MSH down to where the grip safety would still work.

My homebuilt 1911

Runs like a dream, smooth as butter recoil and crisp as ice trigger pull. 200 rounds down the pipe yesterday with no hiccups using 5 different brands of mags.
Palmetto frame and slide
Ed Brown match barrel
C&S competition trigger kit
all the other parts are a mixmatch of Ed Brown and Wilson.

Still undecided on sights, and what color to have it cerakoted. Im leaning towards all graphite black or frame/slide burnt bronze and the rest graphite black.

My Detonics Combat Master is back from having a new finish applied. It got a light bead-blast and then was sent to get a black-oxide finish, and it's a more uniform finish than it ever had from the factory. It's a matte black, and goes perfectly with the Pachmayr wrap-around grips... Definitely All Business!

Refinished Combat Master with the old, ratty grips. The previous owner made them by cutting down a pair of GI walnut grips, many moons ago, and do they look it. This is what sixteen years of carry wear on the grips looks like. See some of my old pics of the pistol to see what it does to the pistol's finish.

Absolutely beautiful.  I love the idea of a custom-type gun that maintains the GI look.

Just received a new, unfired SIG STX 1911 in a trade for a revolver.  I really wasn’t looking for another 1911 as I have Colts now and have had models from Kimber, Remington Rand (WWII) , Detonics (Scoremaster), AMT Harballer longslide, and some I have forgotten.  Now I have a SIG.

I'm impressed with the SIG Sauer Custom Shop’s work on this pistol and really want to get it out to the range.  That may have to wait until next Wednesday when the monsoon weather subsides out here in the Sonoran desert.  At least I can shoot some photos…
The carry configuration:

And by re-installing the original Hogue burl grips: AZ BBQ configuration:*

*I will now need to get a fancy, tooled BBQ holster for the beast!

Picked up this very lightly used Springfield with some custom work done at their custom shop.  I'm not a Springfield fan but I'll pick them up at a good deal when there's enough custom work done to them.

Undercut and checkered frontstrap, new match barrel, dehorn, trigger job, magwell added and blended, 10-8 rear and gold dot front sight, and a few other things.    Then sent to Robar for plating with NP3.  6 CMC Powermags included.   They got it set up pretty much how I wanted it before they put the finish on it, which is good.  About the only thing I feel I need to do is lighten the trigger (it's about 4.75# now) and replace the grip screws with slotted ones, and maybe the grips with something less garish.
