I still have the AK and the plates http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg240/ctmules/mein92withmyFEGAK-47.jpg Awesome pic'........Sully Thank you for the comment!!! I got the AK in 1991, I paid $850 with no box or papers. I remember reading Shotgun news back in the late 1980's and seeing the add for all the foreign AK's that were going for $650. For some reason I wanted the Hungarian AK and the Yugo in 308. After I got the Hungarian the only add I seen was the Mitchell arms Yugo in 308 with the thumb hole stock. You don't see them on GB, If I remember correctly if you bought a Yugo with the thumb hole stock the same add had the original stock sets that you could buy with the Yugo. Those were the days! I wish I knew better back then but then again we all wish we could see in the future. Anyways, I ran 10,000 + rounds through that AK with norinco ammo at first but mostly wolf ammo with out a miss. It's pretty used with lots of wear to show but it has never let me down!! The barrel still looks like new and shiny and the FCG does show some use. Back around 1995 I bought a East German side folder for it at a gun show in SLC for $110.00 and that is my main carry stock. I just like it, it looks cool and it's easy to pack or stow in my ATV rear stow box. Besides taking hundreds of Coyotes It's my main jack rabbit gun. If you live out west then you know what it's like to find a good jack rabbit hunt spot where you can shoot 400 rounds before dinner at jacks, you can't keep loaded mags and the barrel is cookin red hot!! That's a life of a Hungarian AK being used and not a setting in a safe to be sold some day. As with all my guns I shoot the heck out of them!! http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg240/ctmules/2008_0128wildonewest0027.jpg Me in 2008 with my FEG with a E. German side folder and a 74 brake. Picture taken east of the Henry Mountains, UT http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg240/ctmules/DSC00982.jpg Still looks good today. |

Hello thread and forum. I just recently got myself this nice FEG SA 85M. I changed the stock to a Polish beryl folder. But everything else is original. I got it used in as new condition for ~430usd (or 3000 sek). It is a bit of a hassle to get a license for this in Sweden, but I managed and I like it. The only upside to having to kiss police ass to get a license for a rifle is that we have no sbr laws and only a ~20$ fee for suppressors. I am considering getting an original pbs suppressor for this rifle as well. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8007/7554845838_2b0da1237c_b.jpg Welcome. Nice Hungarian |

This is my baby. Post-ban SA-85M. My dream is to deban it someday, but I don't have the money to invest in threading the barrel. I took off the blonde furniture and added the full Tapco Intrafuse furniture kit.

We definitely love AMD's. We've had them in inventory for so long, I'll be sad when they're gone!

Can you post more pictures of the bottom amd? I've been considering buying that muzzle break.

I think the one from CNC warrior is the same as the one from US machine gun, that's why I asked. But for some reason the one I keep seeing at those sites has way more porting holes than yours does and just doesn't quite have the same look. How effective is it as reducing recoil and muzzle flash compared to the stock one that they come with? |

How effective is it as reducing recoil and muzzle flash compared to the stock one that they come with? Yes, it's 5.5 inch. As far as reducing felt recoil I would say it's about the same, but will also say, IMO that there's not that much recoil either way. As far as flash reducing it's definately better at dispersing the fireball and seems a lot "quieter" for the lack of a better word. And yes, there are fewer holes in the one they sent me. Mine has a row of 6 then 5 and the pic on their web site appears to have rows of 8 ? |
|
Excellent, I was hoping noise and flash would go down while recoil stayed the same or reduces. Just needed to make sure before grinding the weld off this one and welding on the new one. Seems like a lot of work if it doesn't improve anything but looks! Thanks!
