What Rail system is this?? http://img402.imageshack.us/img402/5011/800pxafghanborderpolice.jpg This is/was made by the israelis. Either Mako or caa/ema I cant remember which co. it was but it was one of those 2. I happen to like most of their products. I guess they had some bad customer relations for awhile, but I think they make some excellent items. JMHO |

Here is the current military version - simpler and cleaner than the previous versions, with a better return to zero. Cleaning rod can still be installed. Designed to adjust to variations in different AK construction to require no adjustment or fitting on most weapons.

Why not? It contains a Hungarian SA85. It's certainly a ridiculous photo.
Does it belong in the 'AKs in action' thread? |

In fact this beast is TIGHT. I have to file a tad off the magazine tab to fit. Considering throwing a Texas Weapons Systems Dogleg Scope Rail on top. Already have a US Palm grip on the way. how the hell did you get that stock? |

Standard ACE 7.5" Skeleton stock attached to a Krebs AMD Adaptor. The finished rifle. I ran Primary Arms RD on it for a bit and decided to go with the Aimpoint T1. I have been going back and forth with a 1x4 SS scope. Link below is a thread on the topic.

Call me crazy but, I've always liked the looks of the AMD. Had read a few things about the builds from TGI, some good, some not so good. At any rate, I took a chance and ordered one from Centerfire. The gun seems to have been better built than some I've read about. The point at which the folder is attached is cleanly cut but there is some exposed metal showing. No biggy. The button that releases the stock is very stiff. I added one of the stock attachments from AMD Tech and that will be helpful with cheek weld. Before I added this attachment, a nose weld was the best I could achieve.
Anyway, nothing special about this gun except it's mine. If it's reasonably accurate and 100% reliable, I'll have what I expected to have. One thing I dislike about this gun is that TGI used a Tapco magazine to count as three U.S. parts and the G2 trigger group ans the other three parts. This means, to use a better magazine, I'll have to add three U.S. parts and beyond the pistol grip, things get rataher dicey for a putz like me. http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g21/WhiteWillie/AMD2.jpg http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g21/WhiteWillie/AMD1.jpg |

How come some of these have two screws on the side by the rear sight block while others do not? I noticed the ones without the two screws don't allow for a cleaning rod to be accepted because I assume after watching an install video that you have two screws on the bottom that push up against the barrel to tighten everyrthing down. It seems the website you linked is selling the older version. Any picture of one of these on an AMD 65 with the cleaning rod in place? Also, how come these weren't designed to be used with underfolder or even standard Russian style left hand sidefolding stocks? |

I love those too. I would have to ask him to be sure but the finish was perfect so I doubt he sprayed more than the receiver. It's one of my favorites. After seeing that Kassnar import just a few posts up, I had to get in gear on this kit. I just finished it Saturday. http://i1207.photobucket.com/albums/bb473/Donaldbrooks/b0bd2a75.jpg And a group shot. http://i1207.photobucket.com/albums/bb473/Donaldbrooks/028a13cc.jpg |
