9mm home build. not finished yet but the brown truck showed up so I had to immediately put it together :-)

7.62x39 build.

http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa87/rankroddin150/762x39ar.jpg

My 5.56 build had all the stuff that my 7.62x39 has on it now. will eventually have a nice scope, rail guards & bipod.

http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa87/rankroddin150/4railar.jpg

My little brothers rifle started life as a dpms sportical and has since evolved and has had more work done to it thank my kit builds so I thought it would count as a home build.

Plain vanilla AR that my son and I built with the help of an experienced friend (Thank you Mr. F)
DPMS, Del-Ton, YHM, MagPul, Trijicon, MI, Streamlight.  Really nice little rifle; shoots like a dream.  1st build since my Israeli FAL 25 years ago.
Lurked here for a year or two before we dove into the project.  Thanks everyone.  The boy (10) was fascinated to see it all go together and then get to shoot it.
The TA44/Streamlight combo works great in the dark.

Never have, never will.
The scope was sitting on a box of printer paper at the office;
the rifle 8 miles away at my house when the pic was taken.
I guess I should've mentioned that.  I figgered it would be obvious.

Unfortunately I did not build this, but it is my first AR and I really love it. My wife got it for me for Christmas. She is the BEST. I am currently looking for a light laser combo if anybody can recommend a good one I would really appreciate it. I don't want a Crimson and Trace only because I don't want a forward grip. I am looking at a UTG that looks ok, but if I can find one that is a little better that would be great. Thanks for looking.

It was actually above freezing today, like 40+ degrees and sunny.  Took advantage of the  beautiful day and got out my boomstick.  First chance to try out my scope I just got, I admit it's a knock off.  Baby toy's and food first, then farther down the food chain comes Daddy's toys...but I wouldn't have it any other way.  Ok, a real Aimpoint would be nice...lol.

So I told Fred to stop, but he wouldn't,  He was looking like he was going to be trouble, so I let him have it...lol

The build below was a bit pricey but i have to say it was worth every penny. I really wanted to build once and not look back asking myself if i should upgrade any parts later on. I know there are a few pricier upper lower combos out there but i REALLY fell in love with the VLTOR upper from the day i saw it so thats where my build began. Although Im not quite done as Ive yet to decide if there will be any BUIS or not, plus this week ill be adding a VTAC sling and starting my suppressor paperwork.

This build here looks about like this as it stands with prices pretty close to what i spent and for the most part rounded down a bit to make sure i wasnt over shooting my total. BTW thanks to CS Tactical for a good price on the Eclan...

Vltor Mur-1A  -  200.00
DDLES Vltor Matching Lower  -  230.00
MIAD black  -  35.00
Magpul UBR  -  265.00
RRA lower kit  -  35.00
RRA 2 stage trigger  -  95.00
BAD-ASS ambi-selector  -  60.00
Troy Aluminum VFG  -  80.00
Magpul AFG  -  35.00
Atlas Bipod V8  -  219.00
ARMS 17s bipod mount  -  79.00
BWA X-Comp  -  110.00
Adams Arms Piston Kit w/ Meonite BCG  -  375.00
Adams Arms Match 1:8 match melonite bbl  -  300.00
Daniel Defense 9.5FSP Lite rail  -  275.00
BCM med Charging Handle  -  45.00
GG&G Sling mount  -  45.00
Elcan Specter DR 1-4x  -  1785.00
     Total  -  $4268.00 Plus tax/shipping.
I didnt include the P-mags or the the Pelican 1700 case, as they arent really part of the build, otherwise that puts me a little over $4500.00

All in all, its a tack driver, My first trip to the range was last weekend and again this past weekend. Everything ran great and so far out to 250 it seems to be pretty spot on.

To each his own I guess... I like my rifles to come out in one functional piece, especially since the case is plenty big enough to hold it as a complete rifle...
