Yeah, that's got me thinking of that color for my Six8.

That looks great.  Can the textured portion only be done in black?

Here, have some teasers.

Pics of the actual gun coming shortly.

Okay, so here we go.

Starting off, my lovely new Six8 SPC in one of my many handy dandy AR15.com discreet carry bags:

I love these bags, by the way.  I can fit my Mjolnir REPR in one, broken down.

Next, the pic is nowhere near the reality, the machining was just too beautiful, and the oiled NiCorr steel was just too sexy, so I felt compelled to take a pic of the gas block/piston cup.

The LWRC Six8 flash hider.  I'll leave that on until I get a lighter can than my stainless YHM .308 can.

Some would be aghast, but I love the serial number I got, so here it is for all to see:

I'm still getting a feel for the LWRC stock.  I don't normally like the wide, sloped style of cheek weld surface, but this doesn't bug me the way the SOPMODs and VLTOR EMODs have.  In time, it WILL get replaced, due to black shit getting hot in the Mojave for most of the year, but it may get replaced just with an FDE version of what it's got now.  The MOE+ was a bit of a surprise to get, as I haven't seen those from the factory before.  It'll be swapped for an Umbrella Corporation grip.  One of these days, I'm going to have a big sale on the EE of cast off stocks and grips.

I've always liked how they put the flag there.

That is one big, wide mag well.  Just for S&G, I put a regular PMAG up in it, and it does engage the release...but there's sooo much wiggle room that it falls back out pretty quickly.

Also, I put an older 6.8 Bushmaster upper on the lower.  Pins go in fine, but the 6.8 PMAGs don't go all the way in.  If you look at the Six8 upper's sides, you can see that it's kind of swollen out a little bit, to fit the wider mags.  I can see, now that I've got gun and mags in hand, why they didn't try to make the lower compatible with the more widespread 6.8 AR uppers, it wouldn't have worked anyway with the PMAGs.

And this next one, I'm putting in the "pictures that feature PMAGs" thread in Magpul's industry section, right after I post this reply.

Now, I need to get some clients and business so I can afford ammo, and so I can afford some glass for this bit of loveliness.

Just ordered 120 rounds of Federal XM68GD, so when that gets here, I'll test out the Six8.  Trying to figure out what optic I want on it.  ACOG, perhaps, with an offset T1.

Good lord, is that brass?  If so, does the ATF know your rifle shoots two projectiles per pull of the trigger?

LOL the angle in that shot is kind of crazy. That is my brass, it ejects at 2 which is still over gassed but hell it runs so I'm not stressed

Does anyone know if you can purchase the SPR rail on it's own for use with another upper? I know the brand newest ones have the integral upper but the ones that are just barely older used an adapter with the standard style LWRC upper. My roommate has a brand new M6A2 SPR and I LOVE the rail and wanna swap my KAC URX 3.1 out for the LWRC SPR if possible.

Beautiful rifle! Had a chance to look one over at my LGS and was very impressed on how light it is for a piston rife. My M6A2 is pretty nose heavy

Thanks!
Where did you get to see one of these at?
I only ask because it's a limited edition, only 50 of these will be made, and only 25 have been produced so far. Only a handful have made it out into the wild and it's just my own natural curiosity as to where my rifle's brothers are ending up. :)

Ok .. have it working now.

HardEight, this is one of your rifles brothers. I had the rails textured and the LWRC FH swapped out for an AAC 51T. All I've done since I received it is mounted an Aimpoint Pro on it using a Larue mount.

Picture doesn't even begin to do the rifle justice and I can't wait to get over this crud I came down with Christmas day so I can get out and shoot it.

SDmtnbkr, I WISH you could get them separately.
it seems like a lot of piston guys would buy the sexy rail if they sold it separately (even at a premium). But it seems the only way to get one is to buy a take off from someone (and very few (if any) would sell theirs bc it's replacement would have to be even better)

the sexy rail in question :
