I see someone else had the same idea with the SMR rail... Did you make any modifications / considerations for the spring cup on the barrel nut?

Several mods were required.  The pics are of a functioning prototype that will very quickly turn into guns ready to ship.  The whole project is based off the light weight M6-SL with the goal of having a 6lb LWRC with usable rail space.

Very nice! From how you described it I am assuming this is a "for sale" modification/complete rifle/upper and not something that will be shared?

Crude and clumsy, but a first try at a family shot.

From the top left, REPR Mjolnir, M6IC (#106), 16" MRE M6A1 upper on a Bushmaster lower, M6A1-S CSAT, 10.5 M6 upper on ARF billet lower, PSD upper on ARF forged lower, M6AK upper on Spike's lower, 16" REPR.

If you're collaborating directly with Geissele and LWRC on this you ought to see if they'll do keyed rails and uppers like a 416.

Yeah, I was pretty sad to see that :( Wanted to do the same with a 16 and 12 that is shown above. Now my 16 does double duty with a USO 1.8-10 and a Trijicon SRS...

That...really sucks.

I guess my 14.7 is as short a REPR as I'm likely to have.

Yep, yep.  And it's niiiice.  One of the high mucky-mucks at LWRC (Darren, maybe?) commented on their forum, in the thread about the Mjolnirs, that it was really sweet, and they MIGHT make the basic configuration a standard model...at some point.  Certainly not now, things are still settling from the panic all across the industry, and they're still concentrating on getting the new stuff out (Six8, I'm looking at you) and catching up on all the backorders for regular offerings.

I'm kind of hoping that the SBR REPR (and the 18", for that matter) are just temporarily unavailable due to the backlog, and will come back,  but who knows?

The light box never does the colors justice.  Its a good looking gun in person.  The lighting gives it a purplish hue in some of the shots.

I figured the purplish tones were from the gray reflecting its surroundings.  Like I said, just a few shades lighter than my Sniper Gray Mjolnir, it appears.

ETA:  Actually, on my monitor, it looks more bluish gray, slightly metallic.  I kind of dig it.

When did you place your order with NWT?  Trying to figure out when I might have mine.  Placed mine on 1/18

The 17th.  There was another guy on the LWRC forum who also ordered on the 17th, I guess I got mine in just before he got his, and the first shipment cutoff must be just after me.  I don't think the wait for the rest of the preorders will be too long, though.

ETA:  I did some looking into things, and here's what I found.  On the evening of the 16th, I was working evening shift, and emailed NWT about getting on the preorder/deposit list.  I got an email back that night, still at work, and was told the deposits were live on the NWT site.  According to the order confirmation email I got, I placed my preorder/deposit at "placed on January 17, 2013 12:44:36 AM EST", so about quarter to ten PM, local time here in Vegas, the evening of the 16th.

Thanks. Sounds like mine should be in the next shipment. Placed it early on the 18th.  Looking forward to getting it.  Starting to cool off, and I'm looking forward to going to NC to get some hogs with it.
