It's a Taran Tactical, I think the reflection from the lightning makes it look a bit different.

I have a problem. The NEA stock buffer tube is too short to close over the buffer spring retainer.

Have tried several (CNC machined) lowers, all the same.

Did I get a NEA stock with too short of a buffer tube?

Any solutions?

Do you have a lathe?
Could the towers be too thick on the billet lowers?
The top of the tower should be 0.503" thick.

Or you could use a press-in captive detent, something like this, but shorten the nose.

Thank you!

I do not have a lathe.

I measure about 0,514" on both.

Use a JP silent captured spring, you don't need a buffer retainer/spring and it will reduce the "springy" noise when shooting suppressed.

Edit: never mind, forgot you were using the NEA kit.

Wait. Brain fart.

Why do you need a retainer for the NEA kit?
There's a reason the tube is shorter, the retainer would get in the way of the spring, which comes up around the tail of the carrier, and there's no separate buffer to retain.
Every time you pull the upper, the buffer spring comes with it, as it is no longer captive in the tube by design.

So forget everything we've been talking about.

CORRECT!

"Our stock does not require the use of the buffer retainer. The buffer tube is in as far as it needs to go.

You know, I was gonna post "If it's an NEA Stock there's no buffer to retain..." but then thought maybe I was stupid and kept my mouth shut.

What suppressor are you going to use on this in SWE?

ICE arms sells a 6.75"   the shortest one I know of commercially.  probably don't shop to sweeden though.

I would stay away from them.

You'd likely end up with, at best, a well-marketed, barely-functional aesthetic muzzle weight.

I took my Honey Badger to the range today.

I've shot it several times but NEVER with the NEA bolt carrier.

This was the first time EVER with the NEA stock and the NEA bolt carrier - no mods.

Gun cycled perfectly, threw out the empties in a very nice fashion.

Couldn't be happier. BUT I feel emptines, the build took ages to complete and now I feel incomplete having finished the build.

Luckily I have a few mods in mind SLR handguard, perhaps change the G3G trigger etc.

Brought the Badger to the shooting range, snow and ice here but Badger doesn't care!

I added some fire and everyone was happy.

Looking forward to the spring and I'll do some added testing, long range 200-300++ yards specifically.

Shoots nice and has very mild recoil. Love it!

Good to see so many people getting on the 300 blackout bandwagon with me. lol

I just finished up my SBR, and have a suppressor waiting at the shop for my F4 to arrive. I ended up going for a 10in barrel, and Troy PDW stock.

I'm about to embark on one of these. Stamps filed for can and SBR. Plan on using a milled upper I got from Centerfire, and I'm making my own titanium .30 cal can.

Any advice on nailing the details?
