Here's one right before a giant ripped the pole and reel out of his hands and I spent a half hour trying to snag the fish swimming around with a pole following it.

Whoa ! Those are some awesome pics from that Amazon trip.  Trip of lifetime for sure !

Fishing has been kinda slow recently but I have been going out here and there. No full livewells or stringers but a few nice fish caught.  I guess quality over quantity.

To start it off is my lovely wife of 20 yrs with her most recent catch..a rare yellow perch.

A couple nights ago with my friend Lonnie (some of you might recognize him www.runniron.com ) He caught a few eater channel cats and I landed a 24" walleye (biggest this year).

Me a few weeks ago with a 25" Wiper (qualified as a Master Angler Nebraska):
Crappy pic though.

Not anybody i know but I though I'd throw this in here as it is a notable catch here in Nebraska.  Aug 2, 2013 on the Niobrara River this 104 lb Blue Catfish was caught and released from a setline. The Nebraska rod and reel record is 100 lbs 8 oz. . This is not recognized or qualified for that record but is giant Blue.

Is this the same fish ? This Blue cat was sampled by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commision while sampling where the Missouri River and Niobrara meet. It weighed in at the same 104 lbs as the one above. However, this pic was taken in 2009.

Good eye.  We drift a live minnow off the back of the boat while fishing for large mouth bass.  We get 4 or 5 fish on a good day off the minnows.

That they do.  Only place near me that holds them is the CT river that runs between VT and NH.  There are a ton of eaters in there.   They are my favorite fresh water fish to eat.

Hit the river bank last night with another arfcom'er 'MercinarySniper'....had a quiet night as the fog (and the tide) rolled in.
Got a nice little bonfire burning and was getting relaxed when my rod was pulled off the fallen tree trunk it had been resting against.
5-10 minutes of coaxing (and fumbling with the drag) this guy emerged from the murky water...

It was a good night

How big do those stripers have to be to keep down there?

We call em sandbass down here. They're a distant cousin of the striper.
