99%?

Really?

Pretty rare that I see them around here. When I do it's on flatlander rigs.

Probably because I don't mind it being there.  My dealership has been very good to me, going to bat for me when $BIG warrantee claims might go either way, etc.  And the purchasing process has been as painless as spending that amount of money can be.

Like others here, I just tell them before they prep the car that I don't want any additional badges or decals put on the car and to leave off the front license plate frame.  I've never had to do any more than that -- just tell them once and that's the end of the issue.

Too lazy to take it off. The dealer doesn't even exist anymore.

Back in the day I drove a Ford into a Ford dealer because
I was having a problem with the vacuum lines I couldn't
find and wanted them to look at it.

This dealership was in a large city and you couldn't
just drive back to the repair section of the business
and you had to speak with a guy before they would
let you in the repair area.

First thing the guy did was walk to the back of the
Ford and came back around to the front drivers
side and told me they could look at it but it would
be about 5 days before they could get to it. The
guy was being a real dick about the entire thing
like he didn't even want the work.

My good friend in the passenger side had a long history
of his entire family buying new cars every other
year with the dealership. He got out of the car
and walked into the dealership owners office
and words were exchanged back and forth.

The dealership had an unwritten rule that if
it didn't have their dealership markings on the car
it goes to the back of the wait list.

They didn't get any business from either of us
or his family any more. Two of his family members
were purchasing fleet vehicles from them every year.

Yep. I don't let them put stickers on the paint, but I couldn't care less about a license plate frame.

It can stay on unless I have something else that I want to replace it with.

P.S.

We used to be able to tell the unmarked S/O units
by the dealer stickers left on the back of the units.

local Volvo dealer lets you run through their car wash for free if you have their plate frames.

None of our vehicles do, it's either no frame or a custom one. I don't care if the dealer puts one on, it can stay till the plates come but they don't stay.

My bigger issue is if you drill holes in the front bumper the sale is off.

I don't, even had them take the sticker off before the sales guy drove it off the showroom floor.
I told him before I picked it up to remove it, he didn't, my wife saw it.

the only frame I liked a bit was $33 before shipping, not in a hurry to swap it out unless I find a decent alternative for a little cheaper.  all the auto parts stores sell the same damn cheap ones.

Exactly my thoughts... the last two new cars I bought, I requested the dealer badges be removed.  In both cases it was left on the car but the second time around I had brought some 4# mono with me and popped it off in the dealership lot... salesman guy was looking at me like "WTF?" - sooner you get that adhesive off the better.

No, I tell the dealer that I expect their detailer to have that crap removed  when they're waxing it before I come to take delivery. Don't remove it, deal is off...period.

I'm not wasting any of my energy to remove their advertising from MY vehicle.

In Missouri it is illegal to block any part of the plate including clear covers. But this is never unforced.

Now the dealer that I work for gives you free car washes if you have the plate frames on. You don't have to buy the car from us either just ask the porters to put them on and you get free shitty car washes when ever you want.

Also removed the assembly plant sticker on the inside of the windshield.

Leaving it on there is like leaving the sign from the Real Estate Realtor in your front yard after you buy your house just to show where you bought it from.

It's the first thing I do.

Two screws and it's off.  15 second job.

You'd be amazed at how many people still have the stickers on their TV's in the corner.  You know...those yellow ones.

People are lazy.

My old car plate frame had ///M on it, it went well with the vanity plate that said M3 POWER .

Currently I have a civic and I took off the front plate and frame since I live in a free state. I haven't bothered w the rear frame but have been meaning to do it.

I've heard of dealers "replacing" it if you took it off and then brought your vehicle in for service.

I took mine off because I hate chrome shit.

This. Preston gives you free unlimited car washes as long as the license plate frame is on. They check, too. Pretty fair deal.

I don't believe my vehicles came with any of them, but if it did, I removed them.  But I do remove their dealership logo stickers off, with the use of a hair dryer, go-gone, and some elbow grease.

The first car I ordered new, I told them not to put anything like that on it. They put a license plate frame on (which I removed later), and they put a plastic/chrome dealer info thing on the rear spoiler.   ('77 Trans Am). I told them it better not peel any paint, and I slowly removed it.

I only add frames when it's something I like, such as the one I have now;
