Two murderers, two a murdered.  The murderers first.  Steven Hurd.  I was in the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts with him.  After High School he got into drugs, and other weird stuff.  Became a devil worshiper, and cannibal.  Police nabbed him while he was chewing on the victim's fingers at a traffic stop.  He got locked up in the nut house and passed away under mysterious circumstances.  The second was a guy I went to High School with.  He killed his Father while the father was choking his Mom unconscious.

The murdered. A guy I went to High School with was murdered by his older brother for humping the brother's girlfriend.  Caught them in the act, cut loose with a shotgun killed his brother and wounded the girlfriend.   A High School football team mate was murdered and his body was dumped in the desert half way between LA and Las Vegas; about 12 years after we graduated (1979).  I ran into his sister at a theater about 10 years ago (2006) and she said the case was still unsolved.

The world is full of fucked up people.

My wife just showed me on FB that our friend Trisha was just buried in Arlington (served as a Medic in the USAF, got out and became a nurse) yesterday.  I really don't know what was buried considering her murdering ex-husband put her cut up body in a barrel of acid that he buried in the woods.

My wife went out with this murderer in HS before he was a murderer.  Steven Stanko  I guess you could say I was a step up.  LOL

Friend of mine roomed with another dude whose family owned the house. I had beers with the guy a few times.
Guy got on roids and got really aggressive. Started stalking some stripper. Shot her in front of her 6year old daughter in their apartment hallway.

Landlord opened his door and put three in the stalkerguy. Paralyzed him. Guy got 25 years in prison and permanent wheelchair

Co-worker of mine was murdered a few years ago by his brother-in-law.

Cocksucker waited by the gate and ambushed him with a 12 gauge.

Murderer killed himself when the sheriff's office came to take him in.

The victim was a hell of a nice guy and left two teenage daughters.

Buddy in high school who grabbed the wrong guy's hat in a convenience store after they got into some kind of confrontation.  The pissed off guy stabbed my friend in the heart and he died from the wound.  I think he was 17 when that happened.

Yes.  One was a 28 year old woman I grew up with.  She was 6 months pregnant.  Forced to eat broken glass then stabbed multiple times in the genital area one of which killed her unborn child.  Then her house was set on fire to cover the crime.  She was one of 5 women killed in a two day crime spree committed by two men.  She was such a sweet girl too.

Another was a really nice young guy at work who moved to Florida to try his luck there.  He was murdered a few weeks after he arrived.  Shot during a robbery.

My younger brother was in the same high school graduating class as Kenneth Bianchi.  One of the two men who were the Hillside Strangler.

I don't think I know anyone who was murdered.

I knew, but not well, a kid way back when I was about 12 or so, was in sunday school with me, but different school districts.  He shot and killed a guy that broke into their house, that was coming after his sister, and after beating down his dad.   Shot him with a 22.  I don't think things worked out well for him.  He just disappeared, may have went to a juvenile home, being the days before castle doctrine and such.

A high school classmate of mine, Erinn Abramson was murdered at the age of 18, ended up as a cold case.  They ended up using a psychic detective to find the killer.
46. Place: Miami Town Police Department
Case: ‘Beautify and the Thief’. Abduction and murder of a female teenager
Psychic: Micki Dahne (see younger Micki Dahne, picture, below)
Cold case: Police talk to psychic – police had no leads at the time.
Some of the evidence produced: “… screaming … not what she expected …it was her boyfriend … he works with water (worked as a plumber) … I see initials ‘R.S.’ (turned out to killer’s name: Russell Sanborn) … I see letters written by him to her … I see water (was living near car-wash) … I see him near the beach … he’s a killer … he’s smoking … I see him attacking her … I saw him killing her …”

Police Comments: a) Detective Roosevelt Turner - Miami DADE Police Department: “We had nothing to go on (before the psychic came on the scene) … she was correct on everything she told us … from his (the killer’s) initials ... where the scene was ... his occupation ... the letters … it turned out to be true…”

b) Detective Jerry Zito: Miami DADE Police Department – “The information she (the psychic, Micki Dahne) gave us if not close it was right on the button …”

Ellis Rubin went to jail for contempt for refusing to represent the killer on moral grounds:
Rubin Begins Jail Stay Attorney Serving Contempt Sentence
February 10, 1987|By JOHN PLATERO, Miami Bureau

MIAMI -- Controversial attorney Ellis Rubin began serving a 30-day contempt of court sentence Monday for refusing to represent a murder defendant he said planned to lie on the witness stand.

``I`ll be damned if any judge will make me turn a courtroom into a workshop for perjury,`` Rubin, 61, said in front of the main entrance to the Dade County jail.

Circuit Judge Sidney B. Shapiro found Rubin in contempt in April 1985 when the attorney refused to represent Russell Sanborn, accused of the kidnap- slaying of Erinn S. Abramson, 18. Shapiro`s ruling was upheld by state appellate courts.

Defended by another attorney, Sanborn was later convicted and received a life sentence.

Rubin was five minutes early for his 8 a.m. appointment to surrender. Accompanied by his wife, Irene, and two sons, Mark and Guy, Rubin appeared slightly nervous as he talked briefly with the media.

``I don`t claim to be morally superior,`` explained Rubin. ``I took an oath 36 years ago . . . I can`t compromise what I`ve lived by.``

Rubin had explained earlier that he believed that if he continued to defend Sanborn, he would have violated the Florida Bar`s code of ethics as well as his own. Shapiro and the 3rd District Court of Appeal disagreed.

Rubin, who has been an unsuccessful candidate for various public offices, gained nationwide publicity for his ``television intoxication`` defense of teen-age killer Ronnie Zamora in 1977.

He most recently defended Prentice Rasheed, the Liberty City merchant who set a booby trap that electrocuted a burglar. A grand jury refused to indict Rasheed, saying there was no evidence he intended to kill.

Corrections officers at the main jail entrance told Rubin to report to the rear of the building. He and his wife walked the short distance with arms around each other.

Mark Rubin, 29, a partner in his father`s firm, said his father would be treated like any other inmate.

``He doesn`t want special treatment,`` said the younger Rubin.

A corrections officer who asked not to be identified explained that because of the attorney`s ``status in the community, he could be isolated if he chooses.``

Rubin missed breakfast at the jail, which is served from 4 a.m. to 6 a.m., but he would get lunch around noon.

He was photographed and fingerprinted, but not subjected to a body search.

``We only search when we think someone may be smuggling something inside,`` explained the corrections officer.

Mark Rubin accompanied his father inside for a few minutes and then joined his mother and younger brother in back.

He said he would go to the U.S. Supreme Court later this week to ask the high court to overturn Shapiro`s ruling and sentence.

``This issue affects every lawyer in the United States,`` he said.

Mark Rubin would not speculate on whether his father would have to serve the full 30-day sentence.

``We hope that he won`t,`` he said.

When I was in high school, not sure which year, either 2001 or 2002 a kid I sat next to in one of my art classes was murdered. I didn't know him very well, but I'll never forget him. He was a couple years older than me, and I remember he was really excited to go to Kansas City for spring break to see some family. Someone shot him randomly on the interstate while he was driving.

Yes, a young woman named Lauri.

Her pushy and shady business associate was later sent to Federal prison (8 years) for stealing 16 million from the man who trusted that young woman (who was found dead and alone on the other coast with pills and cocaine sprinkled all around the hotel room).

He's out of prison now.  First name is Jack.

No one was ever charged with her murder.
