I'm not afraid of the body or car cameras.
I would love to have one. but it isnt going to change anything. I'm in favor of them. so no fucks given, bring them on I think body cams are a great Idea. I can't wait for the inevitable body cams. The bystander cop SHOULD have used any force necessary to stop the shitbag cop and placed him under arrest on the spot, just like he would have done if he caught any private citizen doing the the same thing. I'm almost never one to say "there should be a law...", but there should be a law that provides harsh criminal penalties for officers that fail to stop (with force if necessary) obvious cases of police brutality that they witness, and for failing to report them as well. The thin blue line will get a lot thinner if officers know that they might face charges for looking the other way, and the real shitbag officers will be less likely to take these actions if they know that their fellow officers are less likely to allow it. |
