Is it just the angle, or that one shallow ass lake? It looks like if the water was at your feet in that pic, you could wade to the middle.

I tallied the month's rainfall earlier this morning - 16.5" according to Wunderground.  I think that's about half the annual average... in 4 weeks.

its shallow near the edges, gets deeper in the middle. not very deep though. usually 10- 20 ft deep. although it does get 40-60 ft deep over by the dam.

they are close together, but have large yards, and no backside neighbors. I like the ones to the right, the ones to the left are dicks.

Is that a tennis court in your backyard? Or some sort of alligator feeding pen (it is Texas, after all)?

I took a bunch more photos, but quit when an 8 ft water moccasin swam by.

how many times have you told that "big fish" story for that snake to be 8 foot?

friends have a lake house thats is 600 feet from the water normally

the lake is a few inches from being in the house

my neighbor took his rv to the lake

water came up and was a few feet from the rv over night

came way too close for comfort

it was every bit of 8 ft. I think the babies are more dangerous aren't they? or is that spiders...
Then it was the largest one ever seen.

I see broken image links.

--ETA:  Odd, copy/pasting link works to show image.

On the left side, where the concrete wall slopes up, in the picture from a few hours ago, it was right at the tree in the corner covered, now in the image above, I don't see it at all by the tree, how much more has the water risen?

I can't paste the same image, must be set to non-embed....

I speak of This one  I don't see the concrete ramp, do you have a wider angle shot, or a shot from the stairs where you took the earlier pics so they can be compared?

I dont know about his house, but last night at 1900 it had come up another foot or so. A foot deeper water. That's a lot of water. all access to the lake is under water. Police were removing people whowere playing in it (no swimming in the lake, yeah, it's stupid, but has a reason)  Lots of idiots playing in the parking lots that are now underater. Lots of fishing too.
