Up until 6-7 months ago my daily was a 1996 Tacoma 2wd with over 250,000 miles on it.

Not really a beater though, it was in really good shape and well cared for. A good, solid, payed cash for it daily driver.

Now I have a newer tacoma that I love, just hate having payments.

1994 base (no power windows or locks) Chevy Malibu.  40K miles.  Bought it used a year ago with 30k miles.   It's not beautiful and has very few redeeming qualities but it gets me where I need to go.

01 VW Golf TDI.

Current issues:

- No Heat (Heater core clogged and I have no intention of fixing)
- door locks (electric) no longer work and doors don't lock
- shocks are shot

I'm actually kind of hoping someone will steal the damn thing. If not, I will drive it till it dies.

98 Ford ranger Base model 2.5 liter standard

It isn't quick to accelerate, but runs at 75 MPH all day on AZ highways.

Currently at 165,000 , and as long as it last me another 16 months through school, it will have done everything that I could ask it to!

92 Crown Vic civy version loaded - for comfy cruising to and from work.

07 Crown Vic Police Interceptor - for those days where I feel like nurturing my inner douchebag.

Both have around 100k miles and run like they are new. They get mid 20's MPG on the highway.

I used to roll a 1997 K1500, Silverado as my DD. I sold it when it hit 165k miles, the guy I sold it to said that he was going to only use it on the weekends as his nice truck.

I miss the 96 Tacoma I used to have.  Sold it to my stepfather and he threw it down the driveway.  Sideways.  Into a couple trees

2004 Passat.  213k miles.  Clogged heater core.  Luckily it has heated seats especially today when it was -2 driving in to work.  The front right wheel is making some real funky noises and I am taking to a mechanic tomorrow.

Currently a 2000 Taurus SEL that I got at an auction for $1300. Has about 130k on it, didn't run worth a shit when I got it, but new coil packs & injectors, and it's just fine. Not sexy, not fast, but gets good mileage, rides nice and payment is a big fat $0 per month.

Looks like this:

2004 Saturn Ion, about as bare bones a model as it gets. Used to get 38mpg out of it, but it has dropped to 35 or so. Ugly as hell but has never required anything aside from basic maintenance so far at 155K. Pretty sure I'll shed a few tears when this car finally takes a shit.

1999 Silverado, single cab, long bed, 2wd and a V6.  I've driven this truck more than 100 miles every work day for the better part of the last 14 years.

Just a hair under 350,000 miles on it--no plans to get anything newer because this old POS still runs great.

ETA for more info and iPotato pics:  Original 4.3 engine, original transmission and rear end.  Regular oil changes and I take care of the little things before they start stacking up.  Mechanically, everything on this truck works, to include AC that is so cold, it makes men realize that we have nipples too.  Hell, even the cigarette lighter works.  (the check engine light is on in the picture only because I didn't start it to get the odometer to come up)

Aesthetically.....well, it's not so great.  I have hit 3 deer in the past 10 years and I stopped fixing it after #2.  The passenger front quarter is crumpled but since the lights still work, I have no intention of fixing it.

The worst damage happened when I was clearing brush and some asshole planted an oak tree behind me.  I backed into it with the tailgate down and crushed it like aluminum foil--second pic is my redneck tailgate.

My beater is a 99 corolla.   200K, still gets 35 mpg and has the original clutch.  I drive it to work every day and my new Tacoma stays in the garage where its warm and dry.
