Last week at work, the titles of Dozens of TV shows I've at least heard of went through my mind.  And when things got a bit dull I wrote down their titles.

For instance there were TV shows made from movies:
Shaft
Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice
Alice

WOOPS! fox show about the end of the world. For some reason I always remember the thanksgiving special that had a giant turkey attacking them.
HERMAN'S HEAD
Another Ohio favorite as a kid was SUPERHOST on channel 43 out of Lorain. 3 stooges then monster movies for the afternoon. Old guy who dressed like superman with a red nose.

I saw Dick Cavett interviewed the other day on O'Reilly. . . I loved his show as a teen-ager. . . and along the same lines, here in the NYC metro area there was another talk/interview show, "The David Susskind Show". . . these were real TALK shows where people, not just celebrities, had actual long, meaningful discussions about issues or ideas. . . Not just plugging some book or movie . .

I'm sure Dick Cavett is a huge liberal, but on his show he asked intelligent questions and had very interesting discussions. . . Not at all like what passes for "talk" shows today. . . Mind numbing, intelligence-reducing, silly drivel---horrible. . .

Cavett's show was good, he had guests on that would never be invited to mainstream talkshows. But I doubt he ever got through a single show without reminding everyone in some way that he had gone to Yale

Alias Smith and Jones. 1971-1973

Hannibal Heyes and Kid Curry, two of the most wanted outlaws in the history of the West, are popular "with everyone except the railroads and the banks", since "in all the trains and banks they robbed, they never shot anyone". They are offered an amnesty on condition that they stay out of trouble for a year and that they don't tell anyone about it. With a view to keeping their noses clean they adopt the identities of Smith and Jones and use all of their ingenuity keeping out of the way of the law.

Another show that was never quite the same after replacing one of the main characters. The original Hannibal Hayes killed himself and his replacement just didn't quite measure up. Much like the two Darrens in Bewitched.

Dr. Kildare

There are two episodes I remember.
One involved an immensely overweight person whose obesity was blinding him through high blood pressure.  The idea was to convince the man to seriously start to lose weight.
The second was with a class of medical students.  Several of them came down with the same serious food poisoning/illness.  The idea was to find out just what they all had in common that made them ill.  Cute ending.
A third I barely remember.  A child was seriously burned when a paper chain caught fire.  Everybody thought it was an accident.  Right up until the last scene.
