Harder trigger spring seemed to be better for reliability. Link to quick first impressions of the Bump Fire Systems $100 bumpfire stock.. LINK TO JAQUFROST'S TECH DISCUSSION ON BUMP-SAW/ BUMPFIRE IAR This thread is for people who hate bump fire stocks and think are something only for mouthbreathers. Apparently it’s common knowledge to everyone except newbs and redneck yokels like myself that bump fire stocks (like the Slide Fire and Fostech stocks) are complete and utter shit. They are literally impossible to control and totally useless for anything other than a 45° cone of spray-fire. They are a toy, unlike 95% of the range-queen carbines here that are war machines and ready to go as soon as the Ruskies start dropping in over Calumet. Everyone knows that the best way to implement real machine guns like the M249 is offhand, and that the bipod on the end of it is just for looks. That's why every video you see of someone with a BF stock is some guy hosing it into a berm from the standing position. Besides, laying down prone is hard and you often get wet and dirty.... EWW! If you can't hit shit with the bump stock from the offhand position, it must be useless, right? I’m making this thread so all the diehard haters can all show me how stupid my dedicated bump fire rifle is. I'm honestly interested to hear it. There is no spring action funny business going on here. It's a plain old semi-auto M4gery retrofitted to take an M60 bipod, dissipator handguards, SD3G trigger, and a bump stock. It’s within the law in every way. Outside of maybe looks or cost of feeding it, I would say this thing is pretty legit. This is it in its most recent configuration. I think it’s actually OK looking, but that’s just me. WATCH MY OLD, FAT ASS RUN BOUNDING DRILLS!!!1! (also shoot from a "barricade," standing, attempt multiple targets, and magdump an MWG90). Here it is bump firing and repeatedly hitting a Steel IPSC target from 250 yards away. Not terrible in my book. Even for a real M249, 250yds is pretty far away to keep it on a man-sized target. Turn up the sound, put it on HD and zoom in. It’s hitting. I followed your team thread for a while and recently wondered what was going on with it. Can you link it? I want to look at the bipod adapter.

Pretty cool, except I can't afford the ammo to do that Same here. Might as well throw silver dimes out your window while you drive. This thing eats cheap steel. For a while I was just not into shooting at all. |

If you've shot an automatic, the bump fire is just... weird.
And it's harder to control, but you have clearly demonstrated it's not impossible. |
|
I think that they're really cool and obviously functional but the range that I'm a member of doesn't allow rapid fire like that so I don't have a use for it.
|
|
That is pretty cool. Have you put any thought into getting a shrike upper?

It's a gravel pit on friendly private property in southwestern Washington—no idea if that's the same place? There was an Excavator in the way or we would have shot from the same position in both videos. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

This is useful. In fact it is your civil obligation to own this (and a SB-15), everyone build one right now.

While I have a pretty decent thread about this over in team, I figure it’s time to bring this back to GD. Usually I just post this when peoples ask if a slide fire stock is any good, but after a couple of recent threads, I figured I'd make my own. Still getting hits with the glare through the smoke and the sun making the target almost completely invisible. http://youtu.be/hKojiATcVNU Here it is bump firing and repeatedly hitting a Steel IPSC target from 250 yards away. Bad ass dude. I love how it looks, and the videos are great. Fucking cool

OK, I have a slide fire stock and a Sig arm brace, when do they come out with a folding bump fire arm brace?

Nicely done. I had a Slidefire on a cheap lower with a 2lb trigger a few years ago, and it cycled flawlessly and pretty dang fast. I have a video of a 30rd mag dump that I might post if I can dig it up, but it's an awful video so beware.

Ideally I would like to go some place in the desert where I could use tracers and not feel bad. |

It's no M240, but it's still a normal carbine when not in the bump mode. I think I was drawn into this to see if it was possible, and the easiest way to do that was with an AR setup. |

What is this, 800 rpm? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EV4JUxK0C_8 Looks pretty real to me. It was a fairly cheap rifle that I wouldn't trust my life to. It had an out of spec DPMS lower that hardly even seated PMAGs (some wouldn't even fit with the bolt open), and they sure as heck wouldn't drop free. The upper was bulky and heavy, and I didn't like the Trijicon Reflex at all because it was fairly dim indoors. I sold it for an ungodly sum after Sandy Hook and replaced it with this (BCM upper/LMT lower): |
