Does the barrel say REP on it somewhere?

What's the significance of those markings?

Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile

I think REP is a Remington proof mark.

Yep. I've seen it on Bushmaster, H&R, and Marlin firearms so far.

Thank you.  What are the chances this thing will have a 5R bbl?

Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile

At that price?  Not likely.  Why would a company put a 5R barrel on a battle carbine, anyway?

Nice rifle, aside from the rollmark, front sight, and the funny looking receiver extension cover, oh and the cam pin that doesn't rotate.

Gotta admit, I've never been in a thread with that particular lecture. Guess I'm in one now.

The local store (the one I work at) doesn't sell firearms at all.  Years ago they did, though.

If thats an AR-10 then you should see if your upper will fit on an armalite ar-10 lower.

That's a helluva deal for a 308 AR. With a couple hundred bucks into that thing it'll be as good as any other high end 308 AR.

+1  Just when I start saving money for something else I hear about a good deal!  Gotta make a trip and see if my Wally World has one...

Overheard while trying to find one at the local wallyworld:

"Do you guys sell handguns?"

"Nope, not allowed to. They figure the employees would shoot the managers."

The is great peril in Wally world selling 308 semi black rifles to the masses.

It will only serve to drive up the cost of the 308 ammo that I depend upon for recreation.

I believe Walmart will order most anything unless it was a one time factory run.  If anyone really wants one, you should just ask the sporting goods clerk and see if they can order it.

It isn't an AR10 but if you are happy with it then that is all that matters.

This.  Walmart near me are carrying the Sig AR and Bushmaster AR's

It could really help to introduce new black rifle owners into the market.
