Still available here for $289.99: http://www.surplusammo.com/9mm-147-grain-gdhp-saa-personal-protection-1000-rds-bulk-new/ It has the polymer drop (so it is G2) and is dated 2014 on the case. The one on the right through an HK compact with a 3.58" barrel. The left expanded to 11/16" out of the Scorpion which was about 1/32" larger than the right from the shorter barreled HK. I'll shoot denim tomorrow. BTW, who wears 4 layers of denim?

I shot 2 more rounds through 4 layers of denim with the same expansion results as the first 2 into water without a barrier. I suspended the denim above the water for one shot and let the denim rest on top of the water for the second. Judging by the holes expansion began immediately with the denim in contact with the water. Expansion began after the bullet passed through the denim that was suspended above it on the other shot. This was a completely UNSCIENTIFIC experiment, more or less. There are supposedly 2 versions of the G2 ammo with the newer version expanding correctly. These rounds appear to be the newer version by looks and expansion. YMMV. |

Here is a ballistic gel test, using FBI protocol of 4 layers of denim. You can judge for yourself. This test was repeated by other testers, and the result is the ammo being sold in bulk. The ammo is a great deal, and it works most of the time. Cops want it to work more than most of the time, though.

Anyone know of an ammo comparison site (like ammoseek, gunbot, etc) that works on a mobile device? I was at a local gun show and had a heck of a time comparing prices on my phone to what the vendors were offering.

This PerFecta .308 150gr SP ammo is on clearance at Wal-Mart for $7.00/20. Brass cased. Even if it's still marked at the old price of $15.84, have them scan it. Every Wal-Mart where I found it was $7.00/box. Not my video, but it was all I could find for a good image. |
