I grew up in Cracker Florida near the Green Swamp. There were gators all over the place.

If you catch a gator and get her on her back you can make her docile by rubbing her belly. She will become a little comatose.

One of the "coming of age" thing a Cracker teenage boy had to do to prove that he was a man was to screw a gator. Pussified Yankee queers wouldn't understand but it was part of the Cracker culture.

When a boy was about 15 or years old it was a ritual to take him out in the swamp get him drunk and catch a gator. They would get a female and get her on her back and then the boy had to do his thing.
