Picked up 1,000 Federal LRM primers last week. 10¢ each, which is high, but at least I could get them. The store clerk said they had a limit of only 2 boxes (100 each) per customer. I replied that I wasn't going to work up a load with just 200 and wouldn't purchase any less than 1,000. He called the manager and they relented and let me get 10 boxes.

I started printing a bulletfeeder for my XL750. The drop dies are done and Amazon delivered blue PLA+ filament for the collator bowl this morning. The electronic parts will be here this weekend. I'll have about 100 more hours of printing to do and I'm waiting on the extra short powder throw bars from Double Alpha, but after that I'll be in business. If that works, the Mark 7 Autodrive is going to be super tempting!

Just received my 458S projectiles from Missouri Bullet.
I'll be loading up ladders with both SBR SOCOM and CFE BLK. I read on here a few months back that CFE BLK actually works really well with 458S so I'll give it a whirl. At any rate it's an excuse for continued testing of the ATV4. |

I loaded five sets of ten each test loads in 5.56. One part of this was to verify that my powder measure stand base does what I need it to do - it does.
Since I haven’t done much loading for several months, I was methodical. I dropped powder slightly under the planned load, then trickled to the exact weight. It was slow, and my back isn’t used to the reaching this took, but it was good to get back to loading. |

Yesterday I had a nice range session. Shot some of my .223 reloads. Recovered all my brass, plus some factory .223 brass another shooter didn’t want. Always good to com home with more brass than I brought to the range

I went to the Outdoor World store here in San Antonio. They had black powder substitutes, but no smokeless powder, and zero primers.
The gentleman told me that they cost “between $6 and $8 a sleeve” (100 primers) and that they have a limit of five sleeves. Not sure if that would be “per type” or total, but that’ academic anyway. He also said that they never know when they will get a truck in, nor what might be on it. You can’t even staff for unloading without knowing that…. When my son worked at Kirklands, they always knew when shipments were due, and at least pretty much what was in them. How does Outdoor World stay in business? Is it the prices of their bass boats? |

I emptied another 80 pieces of 6.8spc brass, and came home with 2 12ga boxes full of LC 556 brass that someone left behind. Also found some PPU 7.62x54R and 308 brass.

Just got a new 550 last week, today I converted from 9mm to 45. Got everything set up and loaded 25-30 pieces of primed brass that came with some used reloading stuff I bought… 25 YEARS AGO!
I’m really liking the new press. Only ever had single stage before. Edit:Forgot pictures Attached File |

Loaded up 75 nosler 110 varmageddons for the 300blk after shooting a 25rd ladder Friday.
Ended up on 19.3grn of h110 and got 2400fps from the bolt gun. Debating on using these for the second deer this year unless I fold and buy some of the barnes 110s. Attached File |

It continues to disappoint. |

Got 150 pieces of 9MM decapped/sized and primed. I'll drop powder and bullets in them tomorrow.
After that I'll switch up to .223 case prep. Got a few hundred pieces of brass tumbled already, so I'll get those decapped/sized then sort for any over max length and get those trimmed. ETA: Forgot to mention, finally stumbled across a decent deal on 9MM SD ammo on Friday...local Scheel's had 124 grain +P HSTs on the shelf in 50 round boxes for $39, which is about as good as its going to get right now. Snagged a couple boxes to hold me over for a bit. |
|
If there's a new way, I'll be the first in line...but it better work this time.

Went shooting this morning, heavy rain, strong straight line winds and about 55 degrees.
Good chance to see what some of my 223 loads do at longer distances in such conditions. Specifically looking at 69g SMK vs 55g soft points. I got some good data. There was a large PRS match Fri/Sat and I picked up a bunch of exotic casings. Lots of 6GT, 6BR, 6CM. Sorting about two walmart sacks of brass I picked up and am going to drop off the 300WM at a buddy's house because he needs some. Attached File |

I like to keep the press set up and ready to rock for events such as boredom, or waiting for the wife to get ready to go somewhere.
Over the weekend I cranked out a couple hundred .45ACP rounds, just for a lack of better things to do. |

Very cosmopolitan.

Kept working on my 300 saum. My oldest rifle, the one that made me start reloading. It needs a new barrel and some premium brass. It just wont shoot any weight of bullet over 125gr with any level of accuracy.
So I switched over to my 308. Did some oal testing with the 165gr SGK. Had good success at about .010 off the lands. So I resized and trimmed all the cases and they are tumbling clean now. |

So dumped 5 gallons of 9mm in the mortar mixer while i prepped 556 brass. |
