Dialed in my sizing die and seating die for 6.5 Creedmoor on my Co-Ax.
Had 5 lbs of True Blue and 2 lbs of 6.5 StaBall show up. Printed a reloading block for 10mm. |
What a long strange trip it's been...
|
I finished sorting my brass, then cleaned up my bench. Including cleaning up my Giraud trimmer - it was pretty full.

Sorted a large box of range pickup brass in anticipation of decapping it all. Have almost a full gallon bag of 9mm and an overflowing colander of 223/556.
Washed a load of decapped 45acp. Do the second load tomorrow. Bagged 308s and 6.5cm by headstamp. My bench is overloaded and in disarray. I have been grabbing supplies left and right where I can and now I have to reorganize my storage situation. I am thankful to have it all but finding space for it all is a curse. |

Finished my 30-ish day project tonight.
On the single stage in September I did 1000 rounds of 69g SMK, 1000 rounds of SS109 and 1000 rounds of Hornady 55g SP. October will be 8mm Mauser and 300 Blackout on the turret press. |

Tumbled and sorted some more range brass pick ups. At about 12k 9mm to reload this winter.
Made a trip to Scheels to pick up a couple pounds of powder, 9mm bullets and Dillon polishing compound. |

Today I:
Decapped 60pcs 6.8spc Washed the last of my decapped 45acp. Now have (1) 2 gallon bucket each of clean 9mm and 45 to load this winter. Have another 1k or so each to decap and wash. Did a bit of bench cleanup Finished setting up the RCBS Case Kicker on my Rockchucker, to replace my homemade one. Picked up some clear hose from Home Depot for the primer catcher I printed and attached that rig to the press. Started decapping a pile of 223/556 brass |
|
|
Trimmed, chamfered and deburred a pile of .223 brass and resized some .30-06.
I'm also beginning to "appreciate" arthritis when doing these things. |

Load planning, mostly. Thanks to hints from several folks here, I have published data from which to start a loading project.

Past couple of days seperated by brand 300 pieces mixed .223 brass and have decapped, cleaned, sized and chamfered and deburred 200 pieces
so far and will finish the rest tomorrow. I have also sized and prepped 50 pieces Winchester .223 new shellcases to put 68 gr BTHP just because I can. The rest will be 55 gr FMJ. Will have some ready to shoot next weekend. |

decapped some brass on the App which decided to give me fits and wouldn't slide all the way.
|
|
|
Sized and deprimed 500 9mm, now to swap dies and bell them. God, I need a progressive press instead of a single stage
|
|
|
yesterday finally got to test my test loads for 45acp 200 gr SWC with 4.1 4.3, 4.5, 4.7 gr of Red Dot
All cycled the gun, were accurate, could tell more recoil with each higher powder charge. No flattened primers. Will choose the 4.3 gr load even though it's milder, it's a target load anyway |

Finished building and testing my home brew induction annealer.
With air cooling I can do 5-6 cases per minute. I plan on having this just be a test bed for a fully automated annealer but I'll need to overcome heat. I need to find a way to coil 1/8" cooper pipe without linking so I can run liquid cooling. Attached File |

Finished decapping 223/556. Set the press up to use my new-to-me RCBS primer pocket swager. In the past I borrowed a Super Swage from a friend. The SS is definitely faster, but the RCBS works and it was cheap.
I have yet to find anything related to hand loading that accomplishes a task faster than its more expensive counterpart. |
|
|
Loaded up 100 rounds of 125gr Kimberlin Creek bullets for further load testing. If they work well enough accuracy wise across several of my pistols for plinking will move to full production mode. They are of course loaded over True Blue. [img]/images/smilies/icon_smile_cool.gif[/img

|
Trimmed about 150 7.62x39 cases on my Hornady Cam Lock, then drug out the RCBS Trim Mate and started my final process stages - deburr flash holes, clean primer pockets, chamfer and deburr case mouths.
Got about 30 cases done out of 750. I really hate brass prep. Also ordered the Lee ACP over the weekend. Fingers crossed that this turns out to be as useful as the APP. |

Printed new interior panels for my ATV4. There is a green light to let you know the charge was successfully dropped but the clear panels and stainless scale make it nearly impossible to see it. These panels help tremendously.

Picked up a #19 shellholder at the LGS tonight.

223 trim die showed up today
Will most likely have to wait until the weekend to get it dialed in |

Straightened up the bench and planning where to mount my new 550 press. (No more 9mm/45 on single stage!!)
Delivery was scheduled for today but got delayed. Yay FedEx |

|
Finished up QA/QC on a fifth can of M193 clones (~650 rds per can).
This is a test batch that I painstakingly deburred prior to loading to avoid bullet shavings. I'm going to test against samples from the other four cans and see if there is an improvement in accuracy. Hoping they shoot the same... Only 6k more to go, lol Attached File Attached File Attached File |

I sorted some 380 brass. Still have more to go. Now my Dillon 380 died I’ve had ordered since January need to arrive.

Stopped at sportsman's... no primers.
Had accurate 5 pounds 2220 and one 2230 and o e pound of tac. I carried the tac around for a minute before putting it back. I don't have any tac... never used it... so why buy just a pound? |

Kayaking this summer I found a (probably haunted) baby crib in a flooded river area. Towed it in.
Turned some of the wood I stripped off into some shelves for my brass prep bench. Used mason jars with bullets and lead ingots inside for legs. Attached File Attached File Attached File |

A friend of mine came over last night and I continued to teach him how to reload.
We had already developed a load for his 300 RUM so we made 50 rounds. He is leaving for a week long moose hunting trip on Friday. I also put my deposit for my Autotrickler V4. |

I spent time tweaking the door operated light switch for my safe, so I didn't get any "loading" done today. But I realized that I talked about making a base for my Uniflow Powder Measure Stand, and I never posted any pictures. So I've started a new thread for the pics.

Bought 1000 CCI 41 primers at Sportsman's Warehouse at lunch.
Tonight I prepped some more 7.62x39 brass on my RCBS Trim Mate in preparation for developing some test loads. My Lee ACP and 3 Lee Bench Plates showed up in the mail, so I fiddled around with them after I got bored with brass prep. |

Picked up a lot of lead and a couple gallons of various brass that apparently came from the estate of a reloader/caster.
Sorting all the brass was a pain. Wet tumbled and oven dried most of it by now, some still to go. The lead was mostly old wheel weights from decades ago- no zinc and no steel. So I have buckets and buckets of WW to smelt down, should yield around 900 lbs of that alloy. Total haul on lead should be around 1400 lbs. Also got: 120 lbs of linotype - the big pig ingots Over 100 lbs of monotype Around 100 lbs of babbitt alloys Around 50 lbs of some other alloy I am unsure of- might be Linotype also. A few hundred lbs in regular Lyman sized ingots, thoughtfully stamped with “ WW”, “PB”, “LT”, etc to show what they were. Very little pure lead. Some 50/50 bar solder as well and a few sticks of tin. Plus a Lyman Mag 50 bottom pour lead furnace and two giant old school “Electro Melter” lead pots. Also about 10 Lee and Lyman molds- mostly round ball, and a half dozen sets of handles. Crazy thing is that I already have a lot of linotype on hand- I need to find soft lead to mix it with. Always happy to find wheel weight alloy. So far I kind of prefer to cast on the softer end of the scale and powder coat, so stocking up on hard lead just because I can find it cheap once in a while is kind of going about it backwards! I recently added some molds that will work for 7.62x39 and 7.62x54, .30 carbine, and something else, in addition to the 9/40/45/.357/.300 BLK molds I was already using. If it would just stop raining I would get to smelting these wheel weights... |

2021 can’t come soon enough!
Edit- well maybe 2020 wasn’t so bad after all..... |
Loaded up 100 rounds of .45 and 150 rounds of 9MM tonight.
Once done with that I started sorting through .223/5.56 brass before tossing it in the tumbler. I'll let it run overnight before separating and tossing another load to run in the morning. I cracked open my last 1K of SPP tonight to load up the 9MM, so I'll be on the hunt for those locally. |
|
If there's a new way, I'll be the first in line...but it better work this time.

Loaded exactly 69 rounds of .40. 7.0gr of CFE Pistol, 155gr plated FP.

Been steadily testing out the Autotrickler V4.
So far it's been pretty darn flawless. A few changes were suggested, and so far they are going into the final design. Been playing around with a particularly tricky powder (800-X) and I had it tuned in pretty well but then Adam had to go tweaking the app and I'm having a hard time finding settings that worked as well as before. I'll figure it out. |
|
|
Picked up about 60pcs of mixed 45 Auto and 38 spl at the range this morning. Tons of brass on the ground but 99% of it was 9mm and I didn't need it.
