I have looked and looked and looked, and looked, and its seems impossible to find information on some bolt carrier groups that seem like they should be good but arent well.....BCM.....or Colt.....or LMT.....I was wondering if there is any chance we can get a solid thread listing some reliable options worth going with other than the obvious big guys. anyone have bolt carrier groups from place like hardened arms, LBE unlimited, ice arms....etc they would trust to be in there gun when the are in it deep? and if this has been done please if someone will help me find it that would be great. thanks guys, people on here have been great thus far....not sure why other forums put this place down all the time....about 90% of all information I find that leads me to any end goal I would say is found on here.

All BCG will fail at some point.  Buy one of the ones you listed then buy a back up bolt if not a complete BCG.

ETA I would pass on Spikes not because of their quality just their shitty business practices.  However they aren't any better or worse than the ones you listed.

Please elaborate on the business practices?  I am unaware.

Business practices don't look to bad in that thread. But it's a snapshot in time.

I will only say this (But there is more) due to this being a technical forum but I am sure you can find it if you google it.  I know there is one thread that I posted in where a shit on another company for making a competing product in the New Product Forum.  But again thats not to say their product is better or worse I just won't give them my business.

No pissing match but if you wanna disparage a company at least back it up with a link.  Not gonna search wouldn't even know what to search.  You don't wanna buy them cool.  But if you wanna trash them back it up.  I'm genuinely curious, no I'm not doing your leg work, and it kinda sounds like personal sour grapes.  If you got something though I am objectively interested.  Post it.

Again Tech Forum I will do the leg work if you IM me.  And Again not saying spikes is better or worse than any other listed.  Just following the rules.

And OP I prefer LMT but for the price watch aimsuplus.com for their BCG I got a complete one for 75$ during Black Friday, but I think they are only $80 normally.

this didnt go well hehe I have researched my eyes out, I thought it would be neat to compile a decent list so somebody else may be able to find it, type the name of a BCG off the list into the search bar, find the right price, and purchase. It seems most peoples opinions on various lesser known manufacturers are...buy from a known manufacturer....and that stinks, cause, theres only one way for a manufacturer to get known, people have to buy their stuff. whats to say the company that made the greatest BCG ever no longer exists because no one bought their stuff. I dont feel like there are enough people getting information out there about other companies. I am curious if anyone has opinions on some that never come up, and how they might stack up to the tried and tru. thanks for throwing spikes out there, anyone else with a bolt carrier you would take to the field with please post.

Like I said the ones you listed are great, and I offered the AIM Surplus BCG

Oh sorry I forgot to mention that, and the ones I listed even the less common one you think are gtg? if so that good I wish there was a way to make a list that everyone could just add a group to. my thing was it was hard to even find some of the BCGs that look pretty well, the longer I search the more I find, I wish I would have have some brands to just type in off the bat, but I don't want to personally list a bunch cause well. I haven't even gotten the one for my rifle yet lol. thanks guys.

Aero Precision?

I have no personal experience with their BCG, but I would be willing to try it based on my experiences with their other products.

Doesn't hurt that the price is right ($125) and that on paper it matches up with the bigger names. 8620 steel carrier with 158 steel bolt, high pressure tested, magnetic particle inspected, properly staked gas key... looks GTG to me.

anyone know anything about seekins precision BCG? its melonite, I want it....lol...it sounds like they are all at least similarish....but I imagine a couple companies that look good on their site  are less than accurate about the quality of their stuff.

Spikes offering is HPT/MPI at a reasonable price.  Mine go bang every time.  Fast or slow they work.  Never once had feed or extraction problems.  The gas keys are staked appropriately. Have never come loose.  Still using original gas rings and they function.

I've owned Noveske, BCMs, and Youngs National Match. The Young's is gorgeous, but they all go bang. I've swapped the Young's into multiple rifles, it's incredible.

That's all I have and I trust each of them.

Would like to see some testing on a Melonited bolt as I have speculated that that treatment on a bolt could cause your bolt lugs in the extension to wear faster as it supposedly makes for a hard exterior surface.  Now having the just the carrier done in Melonite could be nice thing as it would likely just wipe clean when servicing your BCG.

I have had a few bcgs, and they all are kind of the same but for the price and quality I would say spikes tactical. I have the lightened nickel boron one and the fit and finish are fantastic. They also have a s7 tool steel bolt coming soon as well as a lightened titanium BCG.  have heard good things about aim bcgs though
