I got good and bad news.

Good news is a barrel nut slides over an A2X. Bad news is your gas block isn't going to be able to get out of the barrel nut's way unless you chop off the tack weld on the A2X and remove it.

If it is pinned and welded, you can kiss that A2X goodbye my friend.

Sorry if I was mistaken, but didnt he just post a picture of a pretty much complete rifle minus a handguard with a 14.5" barrel and stock on it?

This, he may be alright, but with our fucked up gun laws and the way some agencies interpret them, I'd take down all those pics unless that's an SBR'd lower.

Meh, I think he's alright. He didn't even have a barrel nut.

You try to fire that thing the barrel might get liftoff.

I wasn't suggesting him remove it because of the mix up of not being able to put a barrel nut, I was suggesting it because of the potential of the wrong person seeing that rifle as a SBR.  If it doesn't count if there isn't a barrel nut on then no harm no foul, I personally wouldn't want to risk it that is all.  It was just a friendly suggestion.

Fuck it I removed them, but I'm  pretty sure it's okay, no charging handle, no barrel nut, no rail and not to mention the gas block is just sitting on the berral with no set screws and I don't even have the bolt in the rifle, not that you can tell from a picture. And if the wrong person does looks at my build and thinks my INTENT was or is to build an SBR then they must be an ignorant SOB given the pictures and info I first provided , but then again kids are getting suspended from school for Nerf Foam "Bullets" .......I guess I'll be back when it's finished

Thank you. Changed my mind but those blast shields are on my radar now for an 8.5 .300 alternate SBR upper build. Going to have to find a free float for the correct length for this to work now.

Well, I still have the "CQBR", but it's sort of lost all of it's clone accessories.    She's been moved to "bedside gun" duty.

Damn well played.

I've been wanting to do a 12.5" KMR rig for a while now, but since BCM doesn't offer a 12.5" BFH (CHF) barrel, it's kept me from pulling the trigger.

The alternative I thought up was to do it with a 12.5" DD barrel. You beat me to it!

Thanks man.  I almost pulled the trigger on an 11.5" BCM upper with the KMR, but at the last minute decided to go with a 12.5" DD barrel and just build it.  I knew it was going to have an ACOG on it, so I wanted the BDC to be as close as possible.

No doubt. The 12.5 gives you close to what a 14.5 does. An ACOG will be right at home on top.

What receivers did you use for the build?

A 12.5 or 13.something will surely be my next 5.56 project.

Yep, they're pretty much all done.

The PR will be getting an Aimpoint (probably a PRO) and will probably ride around as a truck gun.  Thinking about possibly trading the Elcan for a Mk6 1-6x or something similar or possibly selling and stepping up to a little more magnification for my 14.5" gun with the Geissele rail.

What receivers did you use for the build?

A 12.5 or 13.something will surely be my next 5.56 project.

The lower is a PSA blem (it was my only other Form 1'd lower that wasn't built yet) and the upper is a Spike's blem from Primary Arms.  Nothing too fancy for me.
