Does anybody have any idea about where these may be in stock? I'd planned on getting one when I get home from Afghanistan in May, but I'm really worried that there may be some asinine ban by then. I've already faced the indignity of agreeing to spend $600 on an LMT lower, and I'm prepared to dip into my savings to buy a 901. Anyone have any idea as to where I can find one?

I'd contact ratworx and try to work something out. I was in afghan when I purchased mine. I reserved with them before the 901 came out. But ratworx treated me great and were very nice! I'm sure rat worx will get more. Email them about getting on the list. |

Your welcome pal! Good luck, if you lived in pa, I would take you to the gunshow where I saw 3 for sale. If you don't have one in 3 months, let me know, bc that gun shown i saw them at will be happening again. I could possibly get the dealers info and send it to you to work out a over the phone deal if they have any in stock!

Wish you the best of luck in finding one. I got mine from Clyde Armory, but I don't know if they have a waiting list. I'd say to get on every waiting list you can and just hope that someone gets one in stock. There is currently one listed on a gun auction site that is selling for over $6500 $7500 with 15hrs left. Apparently there are a lot of people betting that they are not going to be availble anytime soon. |

Can somebody in the know update us on any dealers with 901s in stock? How about the 20rd Mags? Thanks. |

Let get back on track of talking about the 901
I would rather you guys start another thread for sharing news about prices and were to find 901s and general panic buy frenzy. I know it got off track and every one wants to get a 901 and needs help finding them, but it really bogs down the thread topic for people wanting to read about 901 performance and look at pictures |

Great pictures of the 901. I wanted to get one next year, but with the current craziness, I don't know.

With all that is going on I wonder if Colt will make the conversion kit available? If not, I wonder how hard it would be to make the adapter that is necessary to go to 5.56mm? Most of us have extra stuff laying around that can be used if a adapter was available.

anyone want to see video of the 901 being shot in POV?
I can shoot it some tomorrow and do some rapid fire double and triple taps with it to show how easy it is to control to those without one and wondering |

Here are some pics of my current setup

I can't get more than two or three shots without a jam. Usually, every other shot. Cases are ejecting in a consistent pattern but when it jams it the bolt gets stuck on the side of the casing of the new round being chambered. Does it with all ammo and both the colt spec mags and the standard pmags. Not sure what to do at this point other than send it off to colt but I still can't get a hold of their customer service department . Any tips or pointers would be appreciated! I've tried leaving it stored with the bolt held back to try and break in the buffer spring but that hasn't made a difference yet. |

I had no issues using the battle arms detent...
What exactly was your issue? |

My detent looks like the one on the left and yes, positive pressure on the safety sucks. It's okay, but minimal compared to my other Colts. I am going to try to find a way to make it crisper. Who sells longer detents?

Well, I finally had some free time to figure out why my 901 was a single shot. It would FTF and would not lock back on an empty mag. Initially I thought it might just be some dirt in the gas tube, but after a quick cleaning and a hurry up trip to the range I was left with the same issue.
If I really yanked on the charging handle it would usually go all the way back and lock open on an empty mag, but I really had to yank hard...Harder than I would think necessary. The problem was the back of the bottom bolt lug catching the front of the bolt catch. After taking a close look I could see where there was a defined mark where the bolt was catching. After judiciously polishing both surfaces I now have a 901 that functions flawlessly. I imagine if I'd fired enough rounds through it this would have sorted itself out, but the slight bur on the back of the bolt and the slight edge on the bolt catch combined to make this a long process of single shots so I sped the process up a bit. Now it eats whatever I feed it... If anyone else is having a FTF issue you might want to take a look. The problem is magnified and becomes more apparent if you pull the bolt back relatively slowly and not forcefully. I hope someone else with this issue finds this info helpful. |

I just been fiddling with the bolt carrier on my 901 to see how smoothly the gas key and gas tube were coming together. That was effortless, but then I noticed when I pulled it back further it was hanging up pretty good around the forward assist. Took a closer look and it looks like theres a little wear on the bolt carrier toward the front half right where it passes the forward assist. Also, it looks to me like there's some impact wear on the side of the forward assist. I've included some pics, hoping to fix it and then get out and test it with some live fire in the near future. Any input is greatly appreciated!

Took a look at it tonight, very obvious contact marks on catch and bolt lug. It's been catching on the front of the carrier rather than the bolt on occasion. ETA: I probably won't polish anything, just apply more grease and shoot it. My range is single load only so it's tough to break in a new rifle. |

Shoot the gun, you will have more fun and less self generated stress in life Thanks for the reply! Sorry, I posted earlier about my 901 malfunctioning and I should of clarified that I was trying to figure out what was going on. The gun ejects spent cases great, but almost every other round or so the bolt closes on the side of the next round being chambered. It does it with all the ammo I've tried and with all my mags (two colt spec and two standard pmags). I've cleaned the gas tube and lubed and lubed the gun but still no difference. Also, as far as I can tell, there doesn't appear to be any gas leaking where the gas tub connects to the gas block. My thinking now is that perhaps the bcg is getting caught on the forward assist as it travels reward. That's what it does, anyway, when I manually slide it back and forth . |
