Anyone know how long this process usually takes? I just applied for my permit today and was quoted 1 to 2 weeks which I though was excessive given that it should be instant. My friend from Kearney said it only took him 3 days.

If you mean the Handgun Purchase Permit it usually takes about 3-4 business days for the gears to turn. The 1-2 weeks is probably just a cushion in case they have a state mandated week off from work.

Lancaster county is usually blatantly anti gun as far as Nebraska government goes so that's not really a surprise.
