Ok I've decided based on what I could tell from responses and my own schedule to have the cookout on June 3rd.
Time: Around 12:00ish to get started or at least have people start rolling in. [Bill Lumbergh]I may need some early help if some people can show up early that'd be great. [/Bill Lumbergh] Place: My place! There are neighbors involved, but not many. The closest one won't care because the a-hole behind her shoots...towards her house. So she doesn't care how much noise we make. I can explain more later. Menu: Burgers Dogs Meatballs Chips Potato Salad Macaroni Salad Water Sodas and if you're all good..maybe: PIE! (with ice cream) Beer is strictly BYOB ETA: (NO GLASS would rather not deal with broken glass) As always suggestions and anything you may want to provide are welcome. Otherwise if everyone chips in a little($5/person usually works out good) plenty of food will be provided so long as I know how many people are coming. Gus has said he can bring a 10x10 pop up tent. If anyone else has one they can bring one that'd be cool too. I think that's all for now. Start making plans and RSVP when you know you can make it. ETA: 4X4's are advised. I'm sure we'll all be able to pile into a few vehicles but we'll need some people with 4x4's. Slimjim's will do nicely ETA2: CHAIRS!! Bring lawn chairs with you!! (thanks eshell) RSVP'd: c - eshell +1? (targets & plasticware, plates, cups, etc) c - Tall Norton c - Gus (pop up tent) c - scotty1911 +1 c - stratsandaks c - Spot77 (folding table) c - Jimmy1111 c - Leadpumper c - nsgerard +1 Slimjim c - Doucheatron3000 c - AGNST (freedom from VA.....well its worth a shot) migrabill c - ArJunaBug +1 c - trapture c- PICTAKER +1 c - Scorp1us c - Pathfinder ? c - Gunman0 c - Blindviper 23 (confirmed and directions sent) ETA: 5/11/06 WOW this looks to be quite a turnout. Seeing as how this is going to be on private property (at my folks place )and although its 6.5 acres, 30+ people can get cramped with the space we have. So, in talking with them, I'm going to have to cap it at 30 people. I don't really want to but beyond that its just going to be too crowded. Remember this is not a "real" range so you will NOT get as much trigger time as at a real range. Don't be expecting to finish off that case of ammo unless you're only bringing a box or so if ammo. I'm sure everyone understands this, since its a shoot/cookout combo but I just wanted to point it out again so its clear. I don't want to deter anyone from bringing any toys as they are still very much encouraged. If nothing else eye candy is still eye candy. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone and having a hell of a time. If anyone has any questions please IM or email me. I'm definitely planning on having another one in late September as it will be cooler by then. So, if you can't make this one no worries. I'll send out directions in a couple weeks just make sure your name is on the list. If you can't come let me know asap, thanks! |
That sounds like it will work for me, thanks BBQ.
Wife & daughter? If so, I'll check & let you know if one/both would be there. I still have an annual BulletFest 10x10 pop-up canopy around too, if it's not too busted up, I'll bring it. I'll bring a couple steel targets/stands. I was thinking smaller sizes, due to closer ranges. Comments? We'll bring something, beer and ice if nothing else . . . dunno zackly what else unless you request something. I guess if you need something specific, you'll post it. |
I'll be on a flight home from a business trip that day so I wont be able to make it.

Looks good for me. I'll bring a canopy, but I lack a 4x4 so I'll have to pile in somewhere. Still haven't been able to find out the absolute last word on bringing mg's into Md, but if it can be done it will.
Looking forward to it!! |
try calling the maryland state police barracks at waterloo, its where they do all of the pistol purchase and nfa purchase stuff, then fax the form to the batf, you need to hurry |
now for the rsvp, i will be there with a 4x4 unless it dies by then
Northern Baltimore County. |
Meant to do that today, but got side-tracked. |
I've got 4wd if anyone needs to meet me near there and get hauled in. I only have a Liberty, so there's no a lot of room after putting my big behind in there with gear.
I can supply two target frames...... |
You can show up in anything you want. Its just the drive through the woods and over the stream that requires a 4x4. |
FYI, I just spoke with the Md State Police, Firearms Registration Division, and was told in no uncertain terms that indeed one MAY NOT bring NFA weapons (machine guns) into Maryland from out of state without registering them with the state, and since I am not a Md resident, it is impossible for me to register any weapon with Md. (as if I was willing to do that). In other words, residents only.
I'll bring some cool semi toys though, and cans are OK. |
BOOOO!!! Stupid MD!! Well, you gave it a try at least. Thanks. Still looking forward to seeing you there. |
June 3rd looks good to me.
I can't help out with a 4X4 but I've got at least 4 chairs I can bring. |
Oh well, maybe we can get one or more Md resident NFA guys to show up... |
The 3rd looks great for me.Hope it dosn't rain cant make it on the 10th my friend is coming back from Iraq. How much to chip in? Do you want 4X4 trucks or ATVs. Need address?
I'm in. I'll probably ride up with Tall Norton or he'll ride with me.
just bought a new Nissan Pathfinder that needs some dirt on it. I have a 8' long folding table that I can bring....sounds like we might need it. |
(knew I should have checked here sooner...)
Howdy all, LeadPumper checking in. I'd be all sorts of grateful if I could join you for this June 3rd bullet fest. Actually as far as 4x4's go if a few people have pick ups to toss gear in and ride back a few people that can't hike a hill, the walk back isn't that bad. You'll all see when you get there.
Count me and my brother in!
And if there is anything that we can do to help set up, let me know. |
"I can supply a range of firearms including but not limited too:
M1 Garand 1903A3 M-39 VZ-24 AR-180B FAL UZI (Full Auto)" Oh man...I gotta' try the Uzi just once....very cool. I'm going to start restocking my ammo coffers now so I don't have to go on a buying frenzy afterwards. I can't say I have too much cool stuff to bring, but here's probably what it'll be: Remington 742 in .308 Ruger 10/22 Youth model HBAR Ar15 ruger P95 and P97 RIA 1911 taurus 970 in 22lr CZ40b I have a bunch of other stuff, but I'm sure everybody and their brother has shot an 870, sks, Bersa Thunder 380, marlin 22lr bolt action...the usual boring stuff. |
well now i have a use for the 500 rounds of 9mm i have, but no 9mm gun do you mind if i bring along a few hundred to try out the uzi, i even have some uzi spare parts i could bring along, like my own mag, lower etc etc |
Ill be there, This gives me a month to get my new gun ready to go :D
This UZI is an IMI Model A and dislikes wolf steel cased stuff, but eats anything brass cased, so feel free to bring what you like. It'll be there for all to use.
If you want too, spare parts might be helpful if something breaks... I have maybe 6 25 round mags and a 70 round drum available for use Here's a pic: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v502/jgelner/Other/UZI.jpg -LeadPumper |

I will attempt to get off of work, and might be able to bring 2 other people with me and all their toys as well. So tenativley put me down for myself +2.

Just so everyone knows. If we're gonna have 20+ people, that's all well and good just, don't plan on getting a whole lot of trigger time in like you would at an official range. Plan on shooting the shit more than targets and you won't be dissapointed.
That was pretty much my plan anyways... Shoot a little, eat a little, chat a bit, drink a few, etc.... Good to see that LeadPumper has a can for his Uzi. I was going to bring my MK9K and a 3 lug barrel if he didn't. |
Sounds like fun...count me in.
Any objections to bringing some stuff for the grill? |
dont worry lead pumper all of my 9mm ammo is WWB from wally world, i will just bring a box or 2 for me to try it out
Like what? I'll have burgers & dogs. Directions will be sent to everyone closer to the event so people aren't worrying about being left out. That's partly why I'm keeping the RSVP list. With 20+ people coming, if you guys want to make this a awap meet as well, bring whatever you may want to sell. Ya, never know who might want what. |
Mind if a NoVA guy shows up ? I am sick of driving 3+ hours to my hometown shoots :)
Northern Baltimore is like 1.5-2 hours . |
Well I'm northern Baltimore County. Its still 1.5 to 2 hours depending on where you are. |
Wow! I am excited to see this thread. You can count on me being there. I will bring my new Colt M4 and lots of ammo. Oh, and I have 4x4 as well. Can someone IM the address to me? ETA: I am bringing my son, so it's ArJunaBug +1 |
I live in Carroll County - count me in. And NASCAR at Dover is the next day! What a weekend! I am a C&R guy so I can bring Swiss k-31 (x2), British Enfield(x2), German 8mm mauser (with nazi markings intact- just for history- not to be offensive) Russian M38, Russian 91/30, Chinese SKS and o yeah my Brand new Rock River Arms ar15 (M-4) with Trijicon Accupoint scope.
Migrabill-I'm glad to hear you are coming, I'd like to see that awesome K31 of yours in person
Mind if I bring some toys along for the get together?
I would like to bring my M4 out to shoot a few rounds and meet some people who have the same addiction I do. From Westminster, MD here. |
Well (prepare to point, laugh and call me a hippie), I figure that you're probably getting the meat and meat by-products from the grocery store. And thus it has probably been raised in extremely cruel, f'ed up conditions. Just wanted to bring something a little more friendly to the animals. And since the last day of snow goose season was pretty kind to me, I thought maybe a bunch of marinated goose legs/breasts. A little unusual, but trust me, it's good. |

Hey BBQ,
The wife doesn't seem interested and since it seems to be mostly guys anyway, I'm not going to bother with the daughter, either. Mark me down as "1". Ed |
Right-O!!
Sweet a drag 4x4!! Sorry couldn't help myself. Now I just need the weekends to start being nice instead of constant rain so i can get things ready. |

That sounds great! I'm sure you'll get some great shoots. (puns are flying around here like crazy) Additionally - I'm going to have to cap this thing at 30 people. Check out the first post at the bottom for the explanation. I hope everyone understands. |
