I'd say it's about 100 too high, but he could be compensating for lowball offers.  It does need some more work to get it where it needs to be, but the color of the wood looks amazing on the milled receiver for some reason.  I think that's how the original legends looked right?

Good eye man!

Always keeping my eye open, I would make an offer if I had the cash. Changing the FSB and threading the barrel is no issue if someone picked it up. Like you said the woods looks great and milled reciever with 922r conversion already completed, that's pretty sweet. That would make a great 1st AK for someone

I think the price is top dollar but in the ball park. Consider that a non-922r compliant gun goes for $650 or so. Then add in Ironwood furniture and 922r parts and you are close to the $875.

Ugh!  I remember when those things were going for $300.  Yet another example where the gov't punishes people for being honest.

Ha, $300!

In 90-91, I bought an sks norinco that accepted AK mags for $79 at Massey's bait and tackle. Next to the sks sat the AK varients for $150. I couldn't  afford them , so I settled for the sks. I was 18.

Me too! Need to set it aside for a suppressor though, but that is a nice looking Mak...

ETA: Send him an offer so I can stop thinking about it

Must resist! I'm with you guys. I'd rather finish my sr-25 or buy a .308 suppressor, but for $850 that'd be a decent price in my opinion for the mak.

I would go for the 1st (922r compliant) one, you would save money. That is the only reason I would choose the first over the second

Eta: it appears the first one also has a threaded barrel with muzzle nut

Eta 2: the second one is a better choice for someone who does not like the color choice of the wood furniture on the first mak. It would be easier to purchase a furniture kit and finish it, rather than sand everything down.

+1 this.

The first one is def better, you'll spend another $100-$200 making the second look like the first.

I know nothing about AK's. Please tell me why this is a good AK to buy. Would this be a pre-ban gun?

Thanks

The 1st one is a good rifle if you dont want to get your hands dirty.
The second is for the DIYer.
They're both good, just depends on who the new owner is.

Nice job man!

But the above one is bone stock, everything has to be done to it, that's why I think it's high.
