Florida Firearms Training's Defensive Carbine Immersion Course
Location: Okeechobee Shooting Sports
Course Brief: This 2-Day Immersion Special Event picks up where our one day Defensive Carbine curriculum ends in an extended format allowing not only more material to be covered but for more repetition of drills while learning to shoot under stress. Focus will be on Drills and Techniques most commonly accepted for Fighting with a Rifle, as well as some less common techniques that we believe invaluable in an urban fighting environment. Students will develop skills that increase their speed, accuracy and confidence with a carbine. Course include working around vehicles, shooting from improvised positions, transitioning to and from pistol, extreme close contact shooting, introduction to team tactics and more.

Skills and requirements needed coming into this class:
- Must be comfortable with chosen firearm while shooting in a traditional static range environment.
- Must be familiar with basic manipulation and use of chosen firearm
- Must have concealed weapons permit or have completed criminal background check
Required Prerequisite Courses are:
- Advanced Defensive Handgun Level One
AND
- Advanced Defensive Carbine
OR
- Proof of similar course completion from Louis Awerbuck, Randy Cain, Clint Smith, Pat Rogers, Gunsite, or Tactical Response. FFT reserves the right to refuse training or service.
Equipment List:
- Your Chosen Magazine Fed (Semi Auto) Rifle with a Stock that has been zeroed. Pistol and Rimfire Calibers and SBRs are acceptable.
- 1000 Rounds Rifle Ammunition (This may be purchased at the range.)
- Tactical Sling, 1 or 2 point or 2-1 convertible
- Minimum of 5 Rifle Magazines (The more the better!)
- Your Chosen Handgun
- 400 Rounds Handgun Ammunition (This may be purchased at the range.)
- A Standard Strong Side Holster for your Chosen Handgun (*Holster Guidelines)
- Minimum of 3 Handgun Magazines (The more the better!)
- Sturdy Gun Belt and Pants with Belt Loops
- Magazine Pouches to allow carry of 2 Spare Rifle and Handgun Magazines
- Full-wrap Eye and Ear Protection (May be rented from the range.)
- Knee and Elbow Pads
- Weapon Cleaning and Lubrication Equipment
- Pen and Paper
This is NOT a basic course and all students must be up to speed before attending, please see prerequisites. This class is offered 2-3 times per year in Florida.
