Are there any magazines that are known to cause problems in the Tavor?

I have used:

GI aluminum
Hk maritime
Troys
Lancers
PMAGS GEN 1 & 2's

.....even 2 synthetic 40 round mags from Pro-mag I got from Academy on, clearance, worked great.

It did not like
Thermolds (US made)
Surefire 60 (I think it was the mags fault as I have seen these routinely fail)

Foreign made magazines will violate 922r. Not really a big problem though.

If you're using one of the US made trigger packs then foreign mags are OK ...

Are you sure about that? I thought the factory trigger packs are compliance parts, so with an aftermarket one you'd still net the same amount of US parts?

I got it from Mike Kassner in a post over on the Bullpup forum ...

Just a reminder...

Using a non-US made magazine in a stock Tavor SAR will put you in violation of 922(r).

However, if you use a US made after-market fire control pack you can use imported mags in your Tavor without running afoul of 922(r).

And one final note, no consumer (that we know of) has ever been prosecuted for violating 922(r). It is really only enforceable at the manufacturer level of the distribution channel.
