I got a bunch for cheap from Midway and loaded them up today. Ladder tested up from 40.5 grains of IMR4895. Started to flatten primers around 42gr.

I used Remington .308 brass. Shot out of a DPMS LR308t. 1:10 twist.

All the way up to 42 grains the best I could pull off was a 3" group.

I have a lot so would love them to shoot better. Where should I start?

Powder recommendations?

13c plus ship, right? yeah, i bought in too. i plan to run in 30-06, 300WM and maybe 308 win for my 1919a4 (which requires CHEAP ammo, not accurate).

Dont recall my twist in 308 Armalite but I recall manual saying to stay under 175 or so. I dont run my armalite much anymore so not sure I will ever make rounds for it. Hoping someone has an answer for u. looking forward to responses.

Good luck!

That's a tuff one.

I had some 180gr Sierra BTHP match bullets left over and loaded some for the Garand and the M1A and both shot easily better than 3" and with iron sights.

I'll try to find the M1A load I used and post it. The Garand is a 30-06 I used Hornady's 178gr data for it. Their Garand specific data that is. I didn't push them hard either.

So I should be able to pull off some better groups with the .308 then. Its not like they are garbage bullets.

Any tips anyone?

What other powders you got? I would start with another powder. Took me a few powders before I found a good load in my Grendel upper. Maybe you have similar issue.

Right now for rifle just H322, H335, CFE223 and the IMR4895.

I am open to buying a new one just for these.

Try the CFE. Friend loves it in his 308. I like it in my 223 heavies.
