I've been hearing about this since January 2014 and they said they would be available fall 2014. So far no luck but man am I interested in the way this is supposed to work. I can't think of anything better for working up loads for the 50 BMG. Supposedly it will work from the muzzle to as far as 200 yards away. Sounds like a good way to better work out the ballistic coefficient when you don't have factory data. Has anyone got an inside line to the company? Tested one?

If you can get ahold of a copy of Dean Michaelis' book The Complete 50 Caliber Sniper Course "Hard Target Interdiction" some of them had doppler radar data for à bunch of different rounds that Dean tested. Or If you can find him on Facebook you might be able to get a copy of the data that he sold with the books.
I dont think anyone did more testing on .50 Cal ammo and bullets then he did. The doppler radar stuff showed some amazing data on how the BC of the different bullets changed as they flew down range. There was other info but I cant remember everything that the data covered.

Will be getting this specifically for the 50 and 308 to see how my reloads are doing. With our nice weather we are having, should be able to test it out before spring. Have an area to shoot 50 at your place oldman?

We can shoot 500-800 yards at a neighbors place.
I want to shoot yours, since I've already shot mine and it don't work so good with a 0.510" hole thru it.
Just kidding of course.

That is the advantage of the Labradar. There is nothing down range to shoot. I too have destroyed one of my Chronographs when I was trying to get a better reading by shooting closer to the sky screen as it was getting darker.

I'll wait until they've been out for a couple of months or so. It will take that long for the range to thaw out anyway.
