I am wondering if I could get a suppressor for my zell upper
What is the pro vs. Cons  of one.
Where would I even look to start getting price idea of them for such a large round?

My 50 when I get it in is going to be a range toy and shtf rifle.

I found an AAC Cyclone on Gunbroker with brake for $1500.

I thought it increased recoil significantly, but the reduction in sound, blast, and drama in general is biblical in proportion.

While a can "helps" with the sound, the most important thing it does it take away the blast. Sub loads don't have near the blast as super loads.

Its like shooting my M2, its loud but I can shoot it all day long (no blast), You can't shoot a braked 50 all day long w/o it sucking. Add a can and you can shoot all day long and enjoy it.

getting rid of the blast >>>>>>sound reduction

my .02$

Still over 1300 lbs at 1000
1:15 twist barrels are not so great for 50 bmg subsonic loads and a can, the better twist for slower pills is 1:10 twist to stabilize
the pill so you don't damage the can.
If you plan to only shoot subsonic 50 cal then get a 50 AK or 50 Whisper with a 1:10 twist barrel, no need for a heavy 25 to 35 lb
rifle to shoot sub only loads when you can have a 10 to 15 lb rifle.

Yea, for shooting subs it makes sense to build a wildcat rifle with a 1:10 twist. That's what I did using a blown out Beowulf case for the .510 bullet. Now I have a 3 shot repeater and loads are much cheaper

I have one of the few Gemtech Stormfront cans made for the Barrett.  On my M82A1 it performed horrible and ruined any enjoyment of shooting the rifle.  It also caused hang fires.

The kick was worse than ANY firearm I've ever fired....and I've just about shot them all.

I'm looking for M95 now (bolt action) just to find a home for this expensive can.

On a semi auto messing with the blow back pressure and removing the recoil assistance rod on the bolt carrier made the gun go "click" on many a chambered round....scary.

That is a mis fire not a hang  fire.

You removed / altered parts of the firearn  that is not the supresser  causing them.

Misfire  is when you pull the trigger and the round doesnt go off, a hang fire is when you pull the trigger hear tne fire pin strike then the shell goes kfb.
Hang fire is caused by contaminated powder primer or both, or even extream cold.
