I've located a NIB Armalite AR-18. Apparently it is so new that the charging handle has never been put in (bolt has never been racked).

Seller wants 17k for it. Not too sure what the market is on these...

I saw a used one (in good shape) sell for 15k not long ago.

So I guess the question is whether or not the gun being new in box is worth 2k to you personally.

I bought my ar18 for a little over $10,250 in 2014.

Very very clean gun, not unfired still 99%.

Its a nice shooter, Very light weight weapon. Aims well for me. I like the piston design.

If you have a M16 and want a ar18 yes.
They are different enough from each other for me to justify owning both.

Request to bring the AR18 to one of the next centex shoots.

I have never shot one before but always considered picking one up given the interesting mechanical design and that they are part of the Armalite family history.

While not super rare in the transferable world, its still pretty uncommon to come across an AR18.

Booo...you know machineguns really are happier at home in Texas.

We should try and get another range day in the next couple months before you head out.

FYI, your sten somehow infected me at the last shoot and now I have it on the brain that one needs to come home with me.   Was contemplating a FAL receiver to convert to a DSA OSW for the next one but now have doubts if a Sten should maybe be next.

I've always wanted to shoot an AR18, or even an AR180. They look very controllable

Any Warm MG is happy.

another Shoot would be nice,
I just got my PVS 7 in the mail yesterday!  I am a baller on a budget.

I have have to mount the IR Laser next. So a night shoot be would fun.

And yes the Sten, That thing is great. I love the slow ROF. And it just runs and runs. I had one bad mag, that would not feed. That was the only Malf it has ever had.

Just get a Sten, its the only way to scratch that itch.

I noticed that Spiwak just sold the one he's had up for sale for months. Could that possibly be a result of this thread?

Terrific gun with a lot of history, especially during "the troubles" in Ireland.

So much so that it was immortalized in song:

They also do honors to the Armalite as well as the usually noted Thompson in their version of "Merry Ploughboy"

I'm a bag fan of the AR18(0) and have all three mfgs of the semis. No full auto.

That's a nice price for pristine collector grade AR18.
Problem is once you shoot it there goes a couple grand.
Do you want to shoot it ?

Its too bad they never made a .22 kit for these.
Or if Lage etc would "discover" it and make different caliber uppers.
If someone did prices would skyrocket
