I went with the basic buck mark from Cabela's.  They gave me an additional 5% off for being a vet.  So after $50 browning rebate I'm into it for $165.

Now I'm searching for a 4" Tac Sol (or other ) barrel and magazines.

Any advice on aftermarket threaded barrels?

My newest host is a SW 422 with an adapter.  The low barrel keeps the suppressor out of the sight picture.

$380 + tax (7·125%) - gift cards, points, discounts, and rebate.

OP, if you want to sell that 22/45 LITE, send me a message.

IMO the M&P22C is a better gun than the 22/45 light...

I sold mine to get a 22/45 because everyone says the ruger is better for suppression but I regret it. The smith was MUCH more reliable, not even in the same realm of reliability. Overall I think it feels better and was every bit as accurate as the 22/45. I really wish I wouldn't have sold it and I will probably end up selling the 22/45 to get a smith again.

I meant to 4.5" to guarantee it stays subsonic

^ I think so too

If you can wait until reliability reports from production units start coming in, the new S&W SW22 Victory looks like it will make a great host.  I know a few people who have had pre-production units for a while who love them.  Volquartsen already makes barrels for them, too.

+$100 to chop that barrel
They offer it threaded.

Ah, gotcha.

How about the Kel Tec PLR 22?  Anyone suppress that one?  CDNN has them for $250.

I believe there is an affordable  threaded end/adapter for the 422 that makes modifying the bbl itself unnecessary.

EWK Arms makes those.

I find my MkII with TacSol upper to be my loudest pistol host (4.5 inch barrel).  My Walther P22 is the quietest but it's a POS and I don't expect it to last.  M&P compact is my overall favorite.  Wonder what makes the Ruger so loud?

I put my LITE upper on a MKII lower. Feels much better and shoots better for me.

Got my Browning $50 rebate back today--only took like 11 days.

Got my Tac Sol barrel on Friday, and installed it today.  One neat thing about the Tac Sol is that the front sight is metal.  On the OEM barrel, it is plastic.

So I shot them both and I think the Ruger is quieter.  And I liked them both today!.  The handle feels better on the Browning, and the controls on both are not suited to a lefty.

I used some Ely subsonics and they cycled both actions perfectly.  The subs were loud to me with no suppressor on.

My Spectre 2 was tough to thread on and off today.  I had to use a locking pliers to get it snug and loose.  it does not appear to be cross threaded.

gratuitous pic (Tac Sol barrel is OD green).

I see the new S&W are making it to the shelves now.
Where's a good place to get OD grips for a Buckmark?

That's the review that made me want to get that pistol as my next host.
