I love the SCAR17, it's my favorite .308 semi-auto rifle but the price point is pretty steep.

The question then begs itself, can a rifle half the price, like the G2, compete with it?

Personally I like both rifles and they are both great shooters.  It makes me never want to lug the G3 clone aka boat anchor, ever out of the safe again.

Pretty good comparison, can't wait to see what happens at longer ranges. For what it's worth, I have an AAC Blackout on my 17S and it doesn't seem to recoil as much as that G2 looked like it was.

The brake helps some, the SCAR has a better recoil impulse though, with or without it.  As I said, it's not that the G2's is bad by any means, it's just more typical of a AR-10.
