I'm at Shot right now and have ordered some pretty sweet guns and some new style VZ grips. I haven't checked yet but John told me VZ has a new sight up which has more grips and options listed. Some of the new stuff looks great. As soon as I get home I'll put pics of some new stuff that's arrived. There's a standard Wilson CQB, a used Nighthawk Dominator that's diamond black over hard chrome, a new GRP Recon that's 100% diamond black with a threaded barrel (it's sick!!) a new Kimber and I think a Colt has
come in.

I expect you wont have any problems with it at all Ninjaman! Golddot, it must have been some time before 06-07... Scott hasnt worked here in almost 8 years. Mitch left about 5 years ago to open his own place in Middleburg, which sadly has recently closed. I have been here since about '02 along with another guy. Our newest guy has been here 2 years. I'm pretty happy with the crew here right now, except that guy Neil, he is a real jerk!

Kimber mentions they do not sell many of the Compact models (officer frames with 4" barrels, they usually do pretty well here, especially since we will RARELY carry a 3" barrel 1911. Here's their standard Compact Stainless



Guy brought in a used Warrior. Looks great!



SICKEST 1911 we have had in a while. Nighthawk GRP Recon with Surefire X300, threaded barrel and Golfball grips. The entire gun is diamond black including the barrel bushing, trigger and barrel. No silver or stainless on the gun at all.



Another guy brought in a semi-custom Dominator. It is without the magwell, but has an ambi and the slide is Diamond Black instead of Perma Coat.



Standard Wilson CQB with Coco Bolo grips. When I had an empty spot and needed another Wilson, I realized I didnt have anything that was black with wood grips. Looks good.

1911's have been selling pretty well, but everyone is backordered on guns! Very few coming in to replace the ones headed out. When I do get ahold of something, its only Goverment size. Hope things open up soon!

Tentatively, and keeping in mind I have not shot it... It's very nice, it seems very smooth and well put together. I liked that it had no MIM, I have always liked the way the slim grips felt in my hand. The grips definitely have an aggressive feel to them, and I like that too. It is pricey, and while I am not arguing it isn't worth that price, I feel like they may have a hard time selling many when most people with that amount of money in their hand wont be thinking "Dan Wesson".

I'm also am curious to see how it might hold up in a humid place like FL. The stainless does not seem to have any coating over it, and the sand/bead/whatever blast that's been done makes it seem like it might be porous and possibly prone to rust. Please understand I'm not a metal guy, WTH do I know about metal? Not a lot, that's what. I can only comment on things that I have seen, and I have seen this many times with matte blasted stainless AR barrels.

Having said that; There's a few Kimbers that run in this same price range. I think I'd rather have this V-bob than those Kimbers, and I say that as someone who owns a Kimber.

Sorry I missed this! As I understand it, the Springfield Pro's are considered to be one of the very best semi-custom guns available. I can't say that I know what makes it different to be regarded as a more desirable gun though? The very aggressive 20 LPI checkering on the front strap and MSH keep some people from buying it though.

I've been neglecting this thread. Here's a bunch more that have come in since the last post. We were very low on Commander size models, I'm glad a lot of them I had on order from previously started showing up!

Ugh, I can't believe how long it's been since I've posted. Sorry. I'm sure to have missed a few guns that have come in and sold, but here's some pics I do have. I'll start with my own. The following are the three 1911's I own, I've recently acquired this one from Dave Erickson at Condition One. My friend Mers and I went to Dave's place in July. We showed up with a unfinished slide and frame from Nighthawk Custom and a bag of parts and got to work building a 1911 more or less from scratch. There's a pretty big thread HERE that documents the trip and our building the gun and a lot more pictures of the finished product. It's interesting to watch. The gun turned out amazing and is exactly what I wanted.




Next is my fairly custom Kimber Desert Warrior. Chuck Rogers of Rogers Precision did the dimple work for me. Our very own SGB replaced all the MIM parts with Ed Brown and Wilson HardCore parts, as well as working the trigger. I have had this gun for years, and it is pictured earlier in the thread. This is the gun I usually train with and the many, many hundreds of draw strokes from a kydex holster destroyed the finish over the years. When I finally stripped it completely down one day, I saw some rust starting to accumulate on the frame and MSH. I decided to get it refinished and sent it off to Ion Bond to try their new dark earth finish. Got it back and it's quite awesome.



Finally is my Nighthawk Talon II. When I ordered this gun, I asked for their Diamond Black finish. This was before most of the places like Wilson and Nighthawk were shipping guns with black triggers or barrels, so mine came with a stainless barrel, bushing and trigger. While sending my Kimber off to Ion Bond, I also sent those three parts to be Ion Bonded black. Now there's no silver on the gun at all. I'm really pretty happy with the change in appearance.

Guy bought a special edition Colt that was, I believe, polished hard chrome. We also had a pair of Houge Aluminum grips that, while not my style, I knew someone would love. This customer did. His gun and grip choice were not at all what I like personally, but I'll admit, if this is your thing (and it was his), it's kind of cool.



Now for some Kimber. I'll start with what I think is their nicest model; Gold Combat. This model comes in black or stainless, with or without a rail.

Yes, last year they changed the Gold Combat a little. The two biggest changes I saw were a bushingless bull barrel and the new grips.
