Shot w/ some friends today including one that fired my Colt right after I got it. He was immediately bit by the 1911 bug and ordered a parkerized Springfield Loaded. I shot that for the first time today, and now I'm screwed. Gonna have to get one soon. This 1911 thing could get expensive, especially if I start buying pistols w/ Brown, Wilson, or Nighthawk on them.

Traded a full sized/Government Model Springfield Mil-Spec today for this.  Springfield says it was made in 1995.  It appears to me to contain no MIM parts.  I was pretty excited to see the box and all the paperwork survived.  There is a two sheet price list/order form included with everything from M60 parts to "Bombs, Shells, Collectors Ammo".

The bottom of the magazine is marked:

SPRINGFIELD G (the "G" is a smaller font)
  ARMORY
45ACP   8rd

Anyway, older Champion Mil-Spec, Pre-Clinton non ILS MSH, Regular Barrel/Barrel Bushing Goodness.

I love the size of this gun, perfect fit/grip and points excellent.  Weight is on point as well.  Haven't shot it yet.

Edit:
I have received several PM's regarding who did the slide work so i thought I would post here. I contacted Trijicon and they directly recommended Amerigun USA. http://www.amerigunusa.com/

I have no affiliation with said co. R

I just picked this up today. It's a Colt custom shop Rail Gun. All tool steel internals, Pete Single 20 LPI checkering and rounded MSH, spec'ed out by the custom shop director for a 1 of 130 production run. Full custom shop build. I'm stoked.

Thanks. I found it on Gunbroker from a pawn shop in North Carolina. The production run was last year (my test target shows a July 2015 date), so considering how few were made, they're getting hard to find now. I put this on layaway back in January and paid around $2,700, but the ones left on GB now seem to be $3-4k.

Colt's custom shop does some outstanding work. The build quality is just as good as any Ed Brown or Wilson Combat 1911 I've ever handled or shot, from the slide-to-bushing-to-barrel fit to the nitride finish.
