I've been looking for a budget pistol to put a suppressor on and I was considering the P-09 and was hoping someone here could give me some info on it. I know nothing about cz or how good they are.

Title says P-07, post says P-09. I have the P-09, love it. Over 500 rds through it, runs like a top with any ammo and suppressed or not. Best bang for your buck you will get IMO. I want a P-07 as well, but full size pistols are my favorite.

Yeah my bad the title was a typo. I only do full size pistols since I got big hands.

Well if you get the P-09 and don't love it, I will buy you a coke. The trigger is great, it suppresses well, holds 19+1 (),and the decocker/safety option is a good thing. I was a striker fired guy before owning this one, and now I NEED an SP-01, P-01, and P-07. Plus with all the Cajun Gun Works mods, you can trick it out to your heart's content. For $500? A no brainer.

The big uncoated part on the ass end of the can. Never seen one like that.

I love shooting my P-09 suppressed.  It's a fantastic gun, and I don't want to say "for the price" because it's a fantastic gun period.  The fact that it costs what it does is just a bonus.

I think that is just an unpainted piston.

I definitely have to agree with you. I can't believe what I paid for it.

Well this weekend I may go explore some CZS if I can't find some where that carries them. Seems like every where I go some one tries to sell me a glock.... they back off once they realize how much I hate them and refuse to ever own one.

Then you clearly don't deal with Silencerco cans.  Its the extended piston, normally for beretta 92s but gives the suppressor clearance on short threads.

I'm quite new to the whole suppressor thing for pistols. I'm more familiar with rifle cans.

Yep. A piston is what you are seeing.

Shot a P-07 for the first time and I was VERY pleased with the accuracy of that gun. NICE.

So what pistols would need one?

I have a P07, no regrets.
I will add a P09 with threaded barrel next year.
Hopefully.

"Browning action" guns (glocks, etc) have a tilting barrel action and often need the "piston" system to cycle with a suppressor.

Good thing I don't like glocks, and the whole tilting barrel thing always weirded me out.

Almost every semi auto pistol works that way.

I try to avoid it if I can, but when I can't avoid It I sure the fuck don't buy a glock. Glock is the worst pistol I've ever fired. I've also watch the frame split right down the middle when I was shooting with a couple of local cops, glock had to replace every single one the department had purchased.

P-07 with Osprey.

Limited blowback.  I honestly prefer my cz SP-01 because I am an all-metal handgun kind of guy.  However, the P-07 with the suppressor makes the weight about right for me.  Hella fun, very reliable, and quite accurate.  I haven't even changed the sights out for taller ones to see over the can because I am shooting just fine within 25yards.  The weapon combo has at least 2500 rounds through it and is the first one picked up by friends and family.
