A friend is offering this to me for $500, does that sound like a good price? The pistol is several years old and it was a small run done by a distributor. At this time I don't know which distributor had them made.

Any idea what a fair price would be?

Thank you.

Back in the day, I had a new Mk III in .357 mag. and loved it. I saw very few chambered in .22 LR but none in .22 Magnum.

Buy it.

The Colt Trooper Mark III was made in .357 Magnum, .22LR, and .22 Magnum.

All three were regular production models made in 4 inch, 6 inch, and 8 inch barrels, and in bright blue, bright nickel ,and in limited numbers in satin electroless nickel known as "Coltguard".
The .22 Magnum was the lowest production variant, but they were by no means rare.

The .22 Magnum was a standard cataloged Colt gun, not made up for any distributor, unless it was a special edition made for a distributor, in which case it will have non-standard features like markings, grips, or case.

Still in all, that is a good price DEPENDING on actual condition and original grips.

That was a great buy. I have a 6" 357, and an 8" 22lr. I would LOVE to come across a deal like that for a nice 22mag.

Are the .357 bringing that kind of price as well. I have never seen a .22 Trooper. They have one of the smoothest triggers I have ever pulled.

Thanks

.22mag wouldn't have been my first choice, .357 magnum would have been followed by .22LR. I have a Ruger single action with the two cylinders one of which is .22 magnum. So I have some .22 Magnum ammo, I hope to be able to get to the range tomorrow and try this out.

Damn good price, congrats OP. I paid just under a grand for my 4 inch not too long ago and no box.
