Also I will add......if you go to the Glock forum, you will find plenty of 1000.00 Glocks.  The difference is they become 1 K pistols due to add ons after the purchase

IDIOTS are paying 2-3x for 1911's, gimmicky/custom Glocks!  If antiques & plastic are selling for $1k, why even think about spending that on a Sig 226 Elite Series!

Trollish post is very trollish.

I've had the pleasure of illustrating this to people before. Lay out a $700 1911 next to a $1500 1911 next to a $2,000 1911. Pick them up, rack them, rattle em, dry fire them, etc. Move down the line. Unless you've chosen Kimbers, there is a noticeable leap in build quality and components for each step, and a huge gap between the $700 gun and the $2k gun. For me, the only 1911 worth owning was the $2k gun. The rest were just headaches and buyer's remorse.

When it comes to the SIGs, show me an old 226ST that has night sights, wood Hogues, a short reach trigger and an SRT trigger with a price tag that comes out to less than $1100. It doesn't matter if you think the upgrades are worthwhile to you or not, they cost more money, period. The value proposition is easily seen when we look at the Stainless Elites.

If you think the $1,000 Sigs are pricey get yourself a Swiss P210. You'll drop $2000+ dollars on it and then pay $100+ for mags. That's pricey........but so worth it.
