So I purchased one of these started to open the box and the stock had the numbers xxxx out with a new one stamped in. All other numbers match maybe just a new stock? Also this gun was a 1952 tula and not a Chinese model haven't removed all the crap yet but she appears to be in pretty good shape. The serial number starts with HP any clue what that stands for? Will try to clean it up a bit and get some pictures maybe tomorrow.

Its a refurb and marked accordingly with the square stamp with line in it. This is why it has a stock not original to the rifle in this instance.

It would be interesting to know if this is a Russian rifle given to the Chinese, North Koreans, or North Vietnamese.
