hey guys

I have a buddy thats taking a trip out west to go prairie dog hunting.  He is pretty new to ARs and doesnt have a lot of gun experience past shotgun bird hunting.  

He is taking his STAG heavy barral 5.56 chambered AR.  

What would you guys recommend he buys to put in a field bag to take out with him?

I figured some kind of cleaning kit and some type of spray lube.  What about any spare AR parts?  

Please help me put together a quick list for him. If you have a vender suggestion that carries all that you would recommend please list that as well as I'm sure if he can buy it from one place he would prefer that.

ammo
hydration
snacks
rain gear
first aid/survival kit
shooting mat
small tarp for shade (if he is out in the sun)
camera

I would also add a sharp fixed blade, 550 cord, and some latex gloves.

For a trip I would say a spare weapon.
A proven weapon with ammo (a lot of ammo) proven in that weapon.
Several proven mags.
A good cleaning kit with plenty of lube.
A few basic tools that cover the weapon in question.
A BCG and most of a LPK.
A range finder and a wind meter.
A trajectory chart or a smartphone app.
A spotting scope.

Unlike most hunting a pdog hunt can have some similarities with going to the range.
