CLP
Break free flavored Been using it since 1980 never an issue Might be better cleaners or longer lasting lubes but my weapons have never rusted using it |

I favor Ballistol. It's not let me down yet, and seems to stick around with greater effect then Breakfree CLP.

I lube and wipe down with Mobil 1. Prior to that I lubed and wiped down with 3n1 oil.
I've had guns in cases for as long as 8 years in the attic. I pulled them out, looked them over, and they looked as good as the day I put them in the cases. I just wiped them down again and put them back in the cases. |

I run my 1911s, Benelli, and ARs wet... a friend with a go fast Mercury outboard introduced me to Mercury Quick Silver 2 cycle racing oil... it dissipates carbon... and have been using it since the mid 90s.... for anti corrosion Birchwood Casey Barricade (formerly called Sheath)

I now only use Mil-Comm products, they aren't cheap but quality never is. It never made sense to me to put a cleaner in the same bottle as a lubricant. Most don't know but BreakFree makes a LP, some formula as CLP just without the cleaner.

I like Kroil and all the other products of Kano Labs, but Kroil is simply a penetrant. It might have a limited application in guns but it is not a good gun oil. Wow. I don't use 'one thing' these days, but I have sort of settled down to where I will use 'one thing' for each different type of firearm. For modern pistols and long guns, tactical type with aluminum and polymer parts, I use Hornady 'One-Shot' dry lube. It is a strong solvent for cleaning until the solvents evaporate, then it leaves behind a waxy film for lubrication and corrosion protection. For an actual AK-type, Ballistol is king. Ballistol is even more important with corrosive ammo - the water:Ballistol 10:1 emulsion washes out and neutralizes salts residues. Follow up with straight Ballistol as the CLP after the emulsion dries. I also have just re-discovered Eezox which really has some remarkable qualities.

I am currently using/trying out FrogLube CLP. Breakfree CLP is what I used to use for many years. No connection to either company, I just use some of their kit.

I have had a large spray can of Sheath (Barricade) for years. Seems to last forever. Spray on cloth and wipe. Guns still look like new.
