I built my first AR over the course of about 8 months as money allowed me.
And..... it was the longest 8 months of my life! Finished it up right before Election Day thank goodness. Stag 2T Upper Stag receiver, lower parts kit, & BCG. LaRue Grip, and Sight Mount EOTech Surefire Light on a VLTOR Mount Home Made Sling Painted the Roll Marks just cuz. Not a faithful retro cause of the upper but its all I had on hand. 80% lower done by me Hbar barrel and upper from the EE here High Standard BCG Alumihyde ll Parkerizing Gray finish HMMM now just the M16 fire control parts(lol), jus kiddin  " />

First AR build. I've wanted one for a long time. And I'll be honest, the election results pushed me to getting one sooner. Now I am hooked and have ordered another 10 stripped lowers in a previous group buy. I ordered a M1sales kit since I was not sure what all I needed. I had an idea of what I wanted and am happy with it so far. Not very hard to assemble, though I did have a spring and detent that went flying and I luckily found. I've already got plans for a carbine next.

I have my old 3-9x40 rifle scope that I will use on it for now. Still need to find some rings for the scope first. Have 3 PMAG clips and a little ammo for a good start. Buddy of mine said I can buy all the supplies needed for reloading and do all my reloading at his place using his reloader. |

Here is my latest build. M&A 16 inch stainless upper on a Spikes lower with KNS pins. M4 stock with CAA cheek piece. Will change the pistol grip to a Tango Down when I pick up a black one. Will also be adding a Magpul rear sight when I find one. |

That being said, both the bipod and flashlight are larue, so they come off in 10 seconds and I have a much lighter gun, which is how I normally shoot it. 
ETA - I weighed it, guess what? with full furniture and loaded 30 round mag, it weighs in at 13.2 lbs 
When I take off the light/bipod/sling, it drops down to 10.9 lbs. It feels pretty light to shoot though, somehow. |

I was close, I have almost the exact same build is why I said that Only difference is mine isn't piston driven and I have a CTR instead of the UBR (which I envy you because of). I ended up putting the scope on a different rifle and got an aimpoint m2 and aimpoint 3x. I can pop off the flashlight and magnifier and it's much handier. I've since moved the harris bipod to an intermediate rifle too. I think I've got my tacti-cool cqb rifle down under 10 lbs with all it's accessories and just over 8 pounds with the extras put in my pockets.

1. is a 10.5 WOA Barrel upper with POF Rail and POF Flash Hider and Noveske Gas Block Troy BUIS with Eotech and GG&G Accu-Cam Vltor MUR 1 Upper receiver CmmG Lower with Magpul trigger guard Miad Grip and CTR Stock LaRue Forend Grip Young MFG BCG 2. 16 Sabre Defense Fluted Barrel with YHM Lightweight Free Float Rail Vltor Gas Block and GG&G BUIS and FSC556 hider Troy Rear BUIS on a Mega Upper receiver and a Bushmaster Lower that has a Redi-Mag Gen II Installed Timney Drop in trigger. Magpul ASAP plate, trigger guard, Miad grip and CTR stock Aimpoint M2 with LaRue cantilever and Surfire with LaRue quick release.

First post so go easy on me...
LAR Grizzly lower, assembled by me. First stripped lower that I put together myself. DPMS lower parts kit Hogue grip No name 4 pos stock Started with a "normal" 1/9 RRA 16" chrome lined upper, but hated the front site base. I switched it out with a YHM flip up and free floated it while I had the gas block off. YHM rear sight RRA bolt carrier group Big latch charging handle, don't know the brand, got it from PK. Things I want to add/change: Purchase an EOTech, Install Magpul CTR stock<parts ordered. 
This one started life as a RRA 9mm. I know this one seems a little "mall ninja" with the fake can and cheapy optic. The can is only there until my SBR paperwork comes back, and I' bought the bushnell way before my first AR, so it'd be silly not to use it. It actually works pretty well and has been pretty durable and reliable so far. Changed the hammer/buffer/spring out for 5.56 stuff Hogue grip Bushmaster flat top upper with M4 ramps Noveske Crusador 12.5" SS barrel 1/7 YHM light weight free float handguard Spikes fake can, permanently attached Magpul CTR stock Bushnell trophy red/green dot optic Things I want to add/change: Remove the fake can when my NFA stuff goes through, probably put a vortex flash hider on instead. Buy some HK style iron sights. 
I didn't build this one, but by the time I get done changing it around it'll look totally different. DPMS 16" SS bull barrell flat top Changed out the A2 stock for a DPMS 4 pos collapsing one Leupold "gold ring" scope Craptastic scope rings Things I want to add/change: LaRue scope mount, the gun and scope have drained my bank account for the time being. Just have to ebay some more junk from the basement. I'm thinking about having the barrel recontoured to SPR dimensions, adding DD Omega forearm and a magpul UBR stock.
