I am interested in a Simplex lock (or something else as reliable, QUICK ACCESS, and secure....NO Batteries)  AR Gun Safe, wall or floor mounted ....for Home Defense. I love the Simplex lock gun safes I have now, but need one to fit the AR.

I want a safe that is quickly openable but that will be VERY difficult for a robber to compromise. Most of my safes now are through bolted to the frame of my house...with reinforced cross members.  I am looking for a "handgun" safe but AR sized.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I have looked at that wall safe/cabinet for a concealed application.  It would be easy to break in with a crow bar but would certainly suffice to keep out kids or the grab and run thief.  Seems a little pricey.  Should be around $300 IMO.

Simplex is cool.  Do you have some shop skills? You could build one. Simplex locksets are about $60. I just ordered one from Cape Cod Brass for a DIY project.
